Review: Out in Blue by Sarah Gilman

Wednesday, August 31, 2011

From Goodreads:

In a violent world where fallen archangels are hunted for their valuable plumage, Wren knows one thing for certain: the human woman who saved him from a poacher attack will die if she stays with him. The demon responsible for his parents' gruesome deaths two decades ago pines for the chance to rip apart any woman who stands under Wren's wing.

Wren doesn't expect Ginger to stay by his side once she discovers his ability to drain life with a mere touch, yet she lingers. When an unusual talent of her own reveals the location of Wren's father, Wren's isolated world implodes. With the help of the demon protectors he's sworn never to trust again, Wren risks everything to rescue his father, confront the demon who stalks his and Ginger's every step, and claim his eternity with the most courageous woman he's ever known.

This was a page turner from the start of the book. The story was good, so good I was drawn into it and the characters were well written. There is interesting take of angels & demons in the one  folks. Archangels are protected by their demon guardians from poachers who are after them for their beautiful flight wings.

The story revolves around Ginger & Wren. Ginger who is human saves Wren (an archangel) from poachers in the beginning of the story and it takes off from there. The love that grows between them is beautiful and tragic, but it prevails in the end wonderfully  There is a great supporting cast in this story as well and I hope Ms. Gilman writes a book about each and every one of them.

I tweeted that it's a good thing to fall in love with the characters when your're reading, it compels you to purchase more of the author's work  because you just have to find out what is going on in the lives of these characters. And trust you me, when the next installment of this series is released, I will be reading it!

Waiting on Wednesday - 1

Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

My pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection is: Tempted by Elisabeth Naughton, Pub Date: 9/1/11.

From Goodreads:

DEMETRIUS—He’s the hulking, brooding warrior his fellow Guardians avoid. Too dark. Too damaged. And given his heritage, he knows it’s best to keep everyone at arm’s length.

Isadora is missing. The words pounded through his head like a frantic drumbeat. For her own protection, Demetrius had done all he could to avoid the fragile princess, his soul mate. And now she was gone—kidnapped. To get her back, he’ll have to go to the black place in his soul he’s always shunned. As daemons ravage the human realm and his loyalty to the Guardians is put to the ultimate test, Demetrius realizes that Isadora is stronger than anyone thought. And finally letting her into his heart may be the only way to save them both.

I been anxiously waiting for this one (soo happy the release date is tomorrow). I wanted to read Isadora's story for the longest....

Review: The Unbearable Lightness of Dragons

Sunday, August 28, 2011

From Goodreads:

Ysolde Bouchier is still
coming to terms with the dragon part of her, while at the same time trying to
free a friend of Baltic-her Black Dragon lover-from the weyr, get Baltic to
meet with the dragons who want him dead, rescue a half-dragon damsel in over
her head, raise the shade of the man everyone says killed her, and once and for
all clear Baltic's name of the murder charges that continue to plague him.

For Ysolde, being a dragon is starting to bite.

Just as humorous as the
first book in the Light Dragon series, Ysolde Bourchier is still trying to
regain her memories of her past life as a dragon. But now to add to the mix,
she has to clear her mate Baltic’s name, save his 2nd lieutenant and
still convince her former boss to make her magic right.

I continued to enjoy the
characters in this 2nd installment of the Light Dragons. Everyone fit into the story and no one or nothing was out of place. Ysolde and
Baltic have got to be the funniest lead characters I have ever read. I also
liked that there was more sex in this book because the 1st one only
had one scene and I was really disappointed with that although the book was

This story had more than
one scene and they were some of the kinkiest I’ve read in a while (I liked them
a lot! especially the melted caramel scene…mmm…. mmm!).  I loved the relationship between Ysolde and
Baltic, they just meshed….you know? She wasn’t too strong and he was, BUT he
still had that loving and caring feel to him.

This book gets 5 Black

In books like the Sookie Stackhouse (True Blood) series the paranormal creature
in question “comes out of the closet” and makes itself known to the world.
Which mythical creature do you wish would come out of the closet, for real?

Werewolves for me. why? because I have morbid fascination with them. can you image the looks on folks faces when they see a wolf walking down the street?  #priceless ;)

TrueBlood (Sunday, Aug 21st)

I didn't Tweet last night. Love the show, but wasn’t in the mood to rant about it on Twitter.

So what did you think of TrueBlood last night? What was your favorite part & who is F**cking happy that the real Eric is slowly…but surely coming back to his old self. Becuz I swear I am not liking the ol’ googlie eyed, I love you so much Sookie Eric.

I mean is it me? Or did he & Bill switch places or something *scratching my head*

Is Hoyt going kick Jason’s ass for screwing his girl because like shit, they did just broke up. Truthfully, if I were Jessica, I would want to get in Jason’s pants myself *weg*

I can’t wait until somebody…anybody kills Marnie *clearing throat* I mean Antonia’s ass.

Well Trubies…we only got three…that’s right THREE more episodes to left. What are you expecting? What do you think of this season so far?

And wasn’t this season like way off from the books? #justsaying

Just a Question?

Monday, August 22, 2011

Just a question I know that has been asked many a time, but…I would like to ask it again. Can or do men write good romance novels?

I found myself searching for romances especially paranormal & urban fantasies to see if a guy wrote a particular book. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not dissing my girls, because hey? We have some outstanding woman writers out there. I would just like to read a story from the guys point.

So one day in my endless search, I came across a book named The Blood that Bonds by Christopher Buecheler and IT..WAS..GOOD! yeah…um read it in like 24 hours.
It was free eBook on B&N and by the way still is. So I grabbed it up and I was so happy I did. I absolutely loved it! I mean, he didn’t write about a guy from a guys point of view, but a guy writing from a girls point of view. His story plot revolved around a female Two (I know, don’t you just love the name?)  and her vampire love Theroen. I’m not giving anything away…you’ll have to read it. It was just an amazing story.

I’m still finding myself searching though to find that story written by a guy about a guy and yeah I want the story to be paranormal/urban fantasy. So that is my challenge to myself has I continue to look and search. I hoping I come across a good one soon.

Hey do you have any book suggestions you would like to throw my way? Comment or contact me via email or via Goodreads.

Review: Love in the Time of Dragons

Saturday, August 20, 2011

Positively awesome and funny as hell too! I simply loved it. Tully Sullivan is not only finding out she’s NOT human; but also she’s the resurrected silver dragon Ysolde de Bouchier who is mated to dreaded weryn dragon Baltic, who is accused of murder and other despicable acts against the other Dragon septs. As she gains her memories back, she must also prove Baltic’s innocence of the crimes against him.

I loved every character in the story, especially Tully’s…er I mean Ysolde’s son Brom and the demon dog…too funny. This series has a new fan and its author Katie MacAllister has a new follower. A must read for sure.

Review: Heart of the Witch

Didn't like the story at all. The hero was having way too much of a pity party & the heroine...well, she was worst. If you have the opportunity to She had way too many excuses for me. Put it down after reading the first chapter.

Review: Succubus Blue by Richelle Mead

Monday, August 15, 2011

In this debut novel by Richelle Mead, Georgina Kincaid is an unwilling succubus…that is she doesn't really enjoy her job; only becoming one because of her hurtful past.

Georgina was quirky and hysterical; I also loved the rapport she had with the other characters in the book. Georgina and her friends….well mostly Georgina that is, are trying to solve the mysterious beatings and murders that are happening suddenly in the Seattle demon world.

As she gets closer to the answers, Georgina will find shocking secrets and that there are some demons that should stay unknown. And to make matters worse, she must choose between the two men that appear suddenly in her life; her favorite author Seth Mortensen) and (is he is or is he not her boyfriend Roman).

The one gets 4 out of 5 kisses only because it started off slow for me and I thought it took a while for the story to draw me in. But once it did start, it was funny and exciting. A definite must read and if you can read all of the books in the series, like I’ll be doing….

TrueBlood - Epidsode43

Wednesday, August 10, 2011

Well I know it's the middle of the week and my post is late. Most all other Trubies have probably posted to their blogs about last Sunday it is: IT WAS AWESOME, the most exciting one by far for me. Everyone was just that good in this one. I'm so loving Eric's befuddled new self. He's so cute and confused, it's hard not to resist him. And of course, Sookie hasn't (sex scene was worthy of a porno award).

Marnie...wait I mean Antonia got her evil witch thing on. She was scary in her own right and the vampires should be very careful messing around with this witch. I mean make vamps walk out in the sun? idk....

I got to say though, Jessica was my star in this one. She was strong and fierce. I loved it when she told Bill that if she made it, she was going to kill that fucking witch; hmmm, my kinda girl. I so seriously hope she survived,  and that the dick head of a security guard let Jason through and he's gable to save my girl.

Pam rocked as always and her coffin, well let's just say I never though pink would look so good on a coffin..
Tara worked my nerves. you know I'm just tired of her I can't be with anyone because of my fucked up child hood. It's starting to wear thin on my nerves.
Jason was Awesome...I think he falling for Jessica in own little weird way, but that just won't work this is best friend is her husband.
Lafayette, bitch please...that's my dude right there.
Arlene..can't stand the ho.
King Bill. I love him no matter what, even though I was mad at for almost killing my viking god. But he came out that stupidness, so he on my good list again.

I honestly can't wait until next Sunday and I'm literally burning up to see what this Sunday's episode with be. So there, there's my take...hope you enjoyed it. If you didn't catch it, watch it on HBOGo, you so won't be disappointed.

So until Sunday, be safe and stay out of the sun.

Review of When You Dare by Lori Foster

Saturday, August 6, 2011

When You Dare was sexxy, dangerous and exciting. I love the story plot and how the characters meshed with each other and the story, everything fell into place very well.

My favorite character in the book was of course Dare, who was the lead male in this story. I just loved his attitude through the whole story. He was sexxy, strong, handsome, loving, caring and of course he had a body to drool over; he was simply the best. I loved Molly too, she was strong in her own right. She and Dare were good together. The only thing I didn't like was her constant doubting of Dare's feelings towards here. Don't get me wrong, I got why she felt the way she did. I just hate in when male characters keep saying and doing everything under the sun to prove that he loves the female character and she keeps fighting it; it irks me. But in the end, Molly got it and of course she and Dare got together.

The character I didn't like was of course Molly's father; he was a ass to the teeth. God bless her & her sister for dealing with him. Thats all I'm going to say about that. When You Dare gets an A. Danger and love everlasting goes well together. I highly recommend it.

Latest Read

My latest read is Passion Unleashed by Larissa Ione. I LOVE it. Wraith is a incubus demon & his out to save his life by seducing the one thing vowed not to...a human female. But in order to save himself from the poison that is slowly killing him..he must. It doesn't help at all when he starts to fall for the beautiful treasure hunter either.
Check out the fantastic Demonica series. The sexxy incubus brothers will keep you wanting more. I'm on the third book in the series now and it is #AWESOME. I love sould totured characters and each brother has a different and unique story. They are exciting as hell too. So get caught up in the world of dark sexxy demons. I promise you will never want to leave...I know I don't.
