BBT Tour: Author Interveiw ~ Katee Robert

Hosted by Bewitching Book Tours, today I have Katee Robert stopping thorough to talk about her upcoming books in the Sanctify Series. So let's get to it..

Hi Katee and welcome!

Pleas tell us about yourself?

Thanks for having me! Let's see, I'm just a big dork. I like comics and gaming and reading. I'm overly preoccupied with the inevitable zombie apocalypse, much to the dismay of everyone around me. I also collect sayings and words, so I talk like a bizarre combination of an 85 year-old lady and a 15 year-old boy. And, of course, all these random bits come out through my writing.

Can you give us a little background of the Sanctify Series and its characters?

The Sanctify series centers the people who have banded together to fight the hate-group Sanctify. The novella is the origin story, so to speak, of the spread of Sanctify and follows Marianna and Gerard. The events of the entire series are pretty much a result of him taking her captive and their eventually getting together.

Each of the books follows a couple's romantic arc as things get more and more out of control in the universe as a whole. The women are all warriors on one level or another, and they definitely keep the heroes on their toes.

So far who is your favorite in the series and why?

My favorite, hands down, is Jenny O'Keirna. She's the little sister of the hero in Queen of Swords, and she gets her own book eventually. She's the most extravagant character I've ever written--one minute she's dolling up to go dancing and the next she's stepping onto a battlefield most sane people would run screaming from, all while wearing a mad grin.

I'm pretty sure she's nuts, but she's a whole lot of fun.

How far out do you plan to take the series?

Right now, it's a set three book series (plus the novella). This particular series will end with Book 3, but there is the possibility of spin-off books later on.

So I popped over to you blog and see you have a YA book coming out soon. Tell us a little about it.

Hunter of the Dead is basically a combination of the Walking Dead and Supernatural. It's the story of a team that's specifically created to hunt down zombie outbreaks before they spread to the general population. The main character, Eden, is the team's sniper. They get sent out into the jungle and a situation they weren't prepared for, and things quickly spiral out of control. Lots of zombies and guns and chaos abound.

What Genre do you consider yourself in?

I always joke that my Muse has multiple personality disorder. All of my books have romantic elements on one level or another, though. So I guess I write romance?

What do you like to do when you're not writing?

I have a full-time day job and two kids who take up the rest of my day so free time is nearly as fabled as those blasted unicorns. That said, my new obsession is Zombie, Run! I LOVE that game.

Do you always want to be an author?

Yes, though it was always that "Oh man, wouldn't it be cool to write for a living?" way. It was only about five years ago that I knuckled down and started genuinely pursuing writing as a career.

Are there any authors who inspire you? And why?

There are so many! I'm currently fan-girling over Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark series--I want to be her when I grow up. I also have a lot of respect for Laurell K Hamilton for taking her series to the brink, even when it makes people uncomfortable. And I will always love and adore L.J. Smith. She's probably the main author who got me hooked on bad boys and her success now makes me deliriously happy.

Okay, final question. What do you want readers to take with them after they've read your books?

I'd like people to walk away from my books feeling good. And thinking that strength is sexy. All of my leads are incredibly strong, though sometimes that strength appears in unexpected ways.

Thanks for taking time with me today Katee.

Thanks again for having me!

A Sanctify Novel - Book Two - Katee Robert

When the cards tell Ophelia Leoni she’s supposed to marry the Prince of Hansarda, the gunrunner grits her teeth and boards the starship that comes for her. It doesn’t matter if the ship’s commander is the gorgeous stranger she just spent a wild, drunken night with. As a Diviner, she’s painfully aware the cards don’t lie. Ever.

Boone O’Keirna knows Ophelia is trouble the second he sees the way she moves. Not about to let the deadly little hellcat marry his sadistic half-brother, Boone pretends to be the Prince’s emissary and kidnaps Ophelia. Too bad they can’t be in the same room without him wanting to throw her out an airlock–or into bed.

Even as they fight each other–and their explosive attraction–Ophelia and Boone sense something is wrong. Too much is going their way. Soon, they realize while the cards may never lie, the truth is sometimes hidden between them…and the future king of Hansarda is not one to take defeat lying down.

About the Author:

Katee Robert learned to tell stories at her grandpa’s knee. Her favorites then were the rather epic adventures of The Three Bears, but at age twelve she discovered romance novels and never looked back. Now living in Eastern Washington, she spends her time—in between ogling men’s goodies and planning for the inevitable zombie apocalypse—writing speculative romance novels.

As always...thanks for stopping though!
