Book Blurb (Barnes & Noble):
Ever since the death of his shellan, Tohrment has been unrecognizable from the vampire leader he once was. Physically emaciated and heartbroken beyond despair, he has been brought back to the Brotherhood by a self-serving fallen angel. Now, fighting once again with ruthless vengeance, he is unprepared to face a new kind of tragedy.
When Tohr begins to see his beloved in his dreams—trapped in a cold, isolated netherworld far from the peace and tranquility of the Fade—he turns to the angel in hopes of saving the one he has lost. But because Lassiter tells him he must learn to love another to free his former mate, Tohr knows they are all doomed....
Except then a female with a shadowed history begins to get through to him. Against the backdrop of the raging war with the lessers, and with a new clan of vampires vying for the Blind King’s throne, Tohr struggles between the buried past and a very hot, passion-filled future…but can his heart let go and set all of them free?
I enjoyed the read and I think Tohr and No'One/Autumn are good fit. The thing I love about these books is that everyone gets time in, so you learn some things as you're reading. But it's also something that I dislike as well because I think it sometimes take away from whose story is going on at the time. I felt that with this one. I personally don’t think enough time was spent on Tohr and No'One. I felt that way with Phury's book too, but that’s just me.
Tohr had some serious ass issues and he has to fully let Welleslie go in order for her to move on to the Fade. But of course no matter how many times Lassiter tells him that he isn’t doing enough, his stubborn butt just wasn’t listening and it was pissing me off. I mean seriously I was not digging him through some parts of the book.
Poor No'one. She is so buried in her own shit, she is just okay with Tohr just using her, but home girl grew into her own. No'One is by no means stupid, she just knew where Tohr's heart was and that was okay with her until she fell in love with him. Plus it didn't help that he cussed her out like twice, I was happy as hell when Lassiter got in his ass about it.
I'm also happy that Xhex and No'One got to have a relationship. It was one another thing that had me crying. This was a very intense read and there was a lot going on, you will find out a lot.
There was a lot of WTF's & you got to be kidding me's as well, like the issues with Xhex & John. But I'm glad that there were more of them in this one, they are becoming another one of my fav couples in the BDB world.
Okay, so Qhuinn & Blay finally get their book...yay! You can get that from reading this book. But I think the sex is going to be vanilla and I think its going be one of those books I talked about in the beginning. I don't think enough will be spent "per say" on them. Also, in this last book *small spoiler*, Qhuinn services Layla in her needing and it has already been put out there that she is going to have his baby AND she & XCor are each other’s HEA (another WTF!!!!) So my question is...how the Frick is that going to play out? I'm not happy about this is crazy and I don't see a HEA in that at all (Me thinks Lassiter & I will be on a couch watching this play on Maury). But hey, JR is the WARden and this is her world and we're just squirrels trying to get a nut.
All and all Lover Reborn is a very good read and the base of the story, which is Tohr and No'One getting pass their demons and getting together is what makes you enjoy it so much. Hell it's what keeps you coming back to the BDB world period.
