We have another wonderful author stopping through for a Interview. Please welcome W. Lynn Chantale...
Welcome to SalaciousReads!
Please tell us about yourself?
Oh can we go to the next question? No? Okay. After all these interviews I still don’t know what to say or even what the reader would like to know about me. Sooo here goes. I’m not big on romantic movies, love action flicks, and adore a good comedy. As much as I enjoy movies, I do not like going to the theater. Peanut M&M’s are the best, Cocoa-Cola and Dr. Pepper are the bomb, and a bag of plain chips is my fave. I find Ralphie May hilarious and encourage everyone to hear their local symphony orchestra at least once in their life. Life is short, tomorrow is not promised, so tell your loved ones how much you care.
Please tell us about Decadent Seconds and its characters.
As a caterer, Darling gets to witness some of life’s happiest moments, but yearns for a marriage proposal of her own. After years of waiting on her beloved to pop the question, she gives up on ever having a happy ending of her own and severs the relationship. When she learns she’s pregnant, she has no choice but to face her child’s father on a daily basis as well as the love and attraction she has for him.
Darryl Manning always believed Darling would be his forever. After all he didn’t need a piece of paper to show her how much he loved her, but when she leaves him to pursue her dream of owning a catering company and raising his son, he may have to rethink his views on marriage. That is if he wants a second chance at family.
How did the story and its characters come together?
I wanted to show a sexy male hero who held the ideal of traditional family, where the woman stays home and raises the kids, as well as provide the emotional support to her man.
Hey, there’s nothing wrong with that belief, I’m partial to the ideal myself, but thrown in a passionate, intelligent woman involved who holds a more modern belief and can’t bear the idea of staying at home, well it makes for an interesting relationship.
Did anyone become your favorite while writing this story?
Besides the drunk on the floor still trying not to spill his drink? I liked Darling. She would be the type of person I’d want to be. :-)
What inspired Decadent Seconds?
Cutting my finger. I cut a nerve and the flexor tendon in my left index finger last January and let me tell you, I never realized all the things that cannot be done with one hand, like fastening a bra or cutting steak. Although my kids hid all the sharp knives from me and were reluctant to even give me a butter knife.lol But it was definitely a learning experience. :-)
What do you like to do when you're not writing?
I read, knit, spend time with my family and I love rocking out with my kids. My middle son plays lead guitar and my youngest plays the drums, while I pluck along on the bass. Now that the weather a little warmer we’re starting our “garage band” again. :-)
What is your inspiration when you're writing?
Depending on my mood classic or old school R&B or silence. If I’m not listening to music the TV is going in the background, I need some sort of background noise while I write.
When you start to write, do you have a process? (notes, Ipod, quiet, coffee...lol)
I do make notes. I actually try to have a biography for each of my main characters. Background music helps me focus, especially if a scene is difficult and I do enjoy the quiet, but sometimes silence can be overwhelming.
What else can other delicious stories can we expect from you?
The Pick-Up Wife from Whispers Publishing is due out in May 2012.
What do you want readers to take away with them after they've read Decadent Seconds?
I really hope the reader enjoys the story and if someone finds a message within the pages that’s cool too.
Thank you so much for having me here. I’ve had a blast today! Oh and if you’re in the Chicago area this week, stop by Romantic Times Convention at the Hyatt Regency. I’d love to meet some fans. Also look for me in my cyber home:

Bio: W. Lynn Chantale resides in southeastern Michigan. Married to her high school sweetheart, they’ve been together for the last twenty years, and have three children. She has a mad affinity for milk chocolate, preferably Dove chocolate truffles or the caramel-filled squares (Godiva is acceptable), and plays the bass guitar when the Muse begs for a bit of distraction.
She’s also a member of Romance Writers of America as well Greater Detroit Romance Writers of America, Passionate Ink and Kiss of Death groups. She has one release, Seducing His Wife and a short story, Decadent Seconds under contract with Whispers Publishing. Also look for Breaking Delia’s Rules, from Breathless Press.
