Today, I have Carrie Ann Ryan here. She's stopping though as part of her Trinity Bound Tour to answer a few questions for us...take a gander.
Hi! Thank you so much for having me!
So tell us about yourself and did you always want to be a writer?
I’m a chemist by day and a paranormal romance writer, wife, and kitten momma by night. I didn’t know I wanted to be a writer until recently, but I’m so happy I started to read romance!!
Please tell us about the Redwood Pack series and your latest book Trinity Bound
The Redwood Pack series is a seven book series – plus some novellas – that center on a Pack of werewolves and the Jamenson family. Each book is about a different sibling and how they find and keep their mates. And of course, there are demons and a rival Pack to get in the way. They are sexy, a bit dark, kind of funny, and werewolf-tastic (not my word, but a friend’s LOL)
Trinity Bound is about the middle son, Reed. He doesn’t have a position in the Pack, but he also doesn’t realize how much his family needs him. Along his journey against the Centrals (the rival Pack) he meets Hannah and Josh. A witch and a human who are his mates. In Trinity Bound, you’ll see how they come together and how having three different people in a relationship can be incredible – but difficult.
Who became your favorite character while writing this book?
This book? Josh. I didn’t really know who he’d be until I started writing. And now I just want to hug him. LOL
How long do you plan to carry the series out? Will there be a spin-off of the series?
After Trinity Bound, I have 4 more novels and at least one more novella. On May 1st, A Night Away comes out and will be a novella that centers on a couple you’ve already fell for, Mel and Kade. But Adam’s book is the next full length novel and will be out later this year.
I’m not planning a spin-off series, but you never know. I’m writing 3 other series as the moment so we’ll see LOL.
I see one of the characters is ex-military. Did you do any research while writing Trinity Bound?
My father, grandfather, great-grandfather…etc…are all military. For certain things I asked them, but this isn’t a military romance (I love to read those LOL), so I only needed their help for character personalities.
What’s your definition of a Alpha male? And a strong heroine?
Alpha male: Someone who defends what is his, but knows that his heroine can be herself. Someone who needs her as much as she needs him.
Strong Heroine: Someone who can stand on her own, but is okay to lean on others. Someone who needs him as much as he needs her.
I know you're writing about wolves now, but will you will be writing about other paranormal creatures?
Yes!! In my next series, Dante’s Circle, I have just about every paranormal creature out there LOL. In Dust of My Wings, book 1 in the series, I have angels, demons, dragons…and more. And that’s just one book.
I also have two more series with paranormal creatures, but I can’t talk about them just yet. Shhh…
Some of your favorite things to do when you are not writing?
Reading. Honestly, I’m an addict LOL. And I like to cook. And now that I’m not on Chemo anymore, I can start hiking again.
What do you want readers to take away with them after they've finished one of your books?
I hope they love my characters and want to see more of them. I love my characters and I want others to as well!
Thanks for having me!!
Thanks for having me!!
Hannah Lewis, a rare earth witch, is taken from the only life she’s ever known. Held at her will by a sadistic wolf, she almost gives up hope that she’d ever see her real life again. But as her fellow captive, a werewolf named Reed, tries to calm her fears, she begins to feel a spark of something she never thought she’d feel – love. But is Reed, alone, enough to get her out of this dark basement so she can move on with her life?
Reed Jamenson, the artist of a werewolf Pack of Alpha males, knows instinctually that Hannah is his mate. Thus, despite their imprisonment, he will do all to protect her and then worry about their hearts. But is he strong enough to find a way for both of them to escape? And why does he feel as though something else is missing?
Josh Kolb, an ex-military human, stumbles upon Reed and Hannah and finds he must trust this new world of supernatural beings to survive. But that desire will lead the three to a triangle of attraction that will test the boundaries they all possess and its consequences in defeating the enemy. Can they all trust one another to save themselves and life as they know it? Even at the cost of their own hearts?
Snowflakes stuck to Josh’s eyelashes and he bat them away. A strong gust blew past him, the cold chilling his bones. He surveyed his surroundings, taking a silent step through the undergrowth. Tall trees reached to the sky, blocking whatever sunlight filtered through the dreary storm clouds. Their limbs heavy with leaves and the extra weight of collecting snow drooped down, dropping snow bundles on his shoulder and in one unfortunate incident, his face. If only he could have Found these two in the nice spring or cool fall months. No, he had to search for them in the onset of winter and the beginning of what looked to be a deadly snow storm. Lucky guy.
When he left his bench on Main Street, he had quickly gone home to fetch some of his equipment. He dressed warmer, grabbed a pack with extra clothes for Reed and the witch, some food and water, and weapons. Lots of weapons. Knifes and blades of various shapes and sizes adorned his body. He had his SIG strapped to his side, with extra ammo in his belt. Sadly he didn’t have any silver, but lead would at least slow the beasts down if they came after him.
And they would. Because as he followed the trail in his mind to this remote bunker, his sense of unease swelled to a staggering sensation. Crap, he might not make it this time. He was but one man. One human at that. But looking down at the lair that held two people that he needed to find, he set aside those worries and the creeps it gave off. The two of them were more important – for some unknown reason. And if anyone truly knew him, they would know that it was freaking hard to give Josh the creeps. But he ignored those chills as well.
