For Danika, the only thing worse than going commando while wearing a fugly, silver bodysuit, was dealing with her deadbeat, ex-husband James. Catcalls, unwanted groping and lecherous stares weren’t really her cup of tea either, but she’d endure all of it and more if her new job serving cocktails at Masquerade meant ridding herself of his mountain of debt. It was just a job, after all, and what choice did she have with James' creditors breathing down her neck? What she didn't bargain for, however, was falling heels-over-head in lust with a two-hundred-plus pound, shape-shifting immortal from Ancient Greece.

On a mission to take down a parasitic demon, Ty doesn't have time for distraction. Not even when that distraction could prove to be his possible lifemate in the form of sweet, innocent, yet sexy-as-hell Danika. But when the leech he’s hunting goes after the cocktail waitress, all bets are off. Unable to resist her siren call any longer, Ty surrenders himself to Danika, body and soul, treating them both to a night they'll never forget.

My Review

The premise of the book is basically the same as most out there. Seven men cursed and who serve a Goddess to protect the human world.

I loved the direction Lisa Sanchez is taking with this series and she does a great job with this novella, which is Book 1 in the Order of Seven series. Greek Mythology is one of my favorites to read about and this one is no exception.

Life is going bad for Danika. She is recently divorced from a scumbag and to top it off, she has to take a second job to pay off his debt. The job she takes is not the best and her boss is of course a scumbag too.
Ty is cursed and serves as one of Athena’s warriors to protect the earth from demon scum and this mission is no different from any of the others. But like Danika, he is having a hard time locating the parasitic demon that is eating at human souls.

All Danika wants to do is get her night over with while working as a waitress at the seedy & popular bar she works at. Her night goes from bad to worse when her ex-husband decides to shows up. Ty realizes that Danika is his life mate, but doesn’t need any further distractions as he tries to locate the demon that has been dodging him. But distraction he will get and so will Danika.

Ty was sexy and bad ass okay...he kind of reminded me of Rhage from BDB, as far as sharing his body with a killer animal. While Rhage has his dragon, Ty has a lion and this is no ordinary lion…his is 3x’s a big and just as dangerous. I loved how he kept cursing the goddess Athena throughout the story (hence the title), it was hysterical.
Danika’s character was strong as well. She took to Ty and his beast with a little shock and non-belief as first. But she knew there was something about this man that she was instantly drawn too.

This novella was short and to the point and I liked that. It’s a great start to a series I think that will be very good and I can’t wait to see what other mythological creatures we come across.

My Rating
4 Kisses

A slow and sweet romantic kiss that will leave you wanting more.
