Hi Beautifuls!

Today, Alicia Wright Brewster is stopping through Salacious Reads as part of her tour for the first book in her Fallen series...Don't Call Me Angel.

This is one of the best books I've read so far this year. This fallen angel story is intense, I loved everything about it; check out my Review. Alicia is also giving away two eBook copies of Don't Call Me Angel. Fill out the Rafflecopter at the end of this post.

First we are going to kick off with the interview...check it out.

Hi Alicia and welcome to Salacious Reads!

Please tell us about Don't Call Me Angel and its heroine.

Thanks for having me here!
Don't Call Me Angel is an urban fantasy novella about a fallen angel, named Six, who just escaped from Hell. Six sees things differently than most people, partly because she's bitter about having been forced into Hell, and partly because she's new to Earth and discovering it for the first time. Throughout the series, we'll see her make a lot of mistakes while finding her way.

How did you come up with the premise for this story?

There are a good number of stories out there about angels who happen to be fallen. Most of them deal with angels who fell long ago, or the stories are in the points-of-view of characters other than the fallen angels. I started to think about how traumatic being cast out of heaven must be for an angel, and that spawned Don't Call Me Angel.
What can readers expect when reading Don't Call Me Angel?

Readers can expect to see a fallen angel, named Six, who is struggling with her ideas of right and wrong, while at the same time seeking friendship in a world that's new to her. And of course, there's some fighting and just a bit of sexual tension.

This is book 1 in your Forsaken series, how many books do you plan to write in the series?

Six. Smiley

Tell us about yourself?

I'm a geek. Really big geek. Big.

What other books have you written?

This is my first finished book. Later this summer, you'll see a short story of mine in the Paramourtal 2 anthology, published by Cliffhanger Books. Next year, you'll get another installment of Six's story, as well as a young adult science fiction novel, titled Echo. I have plans for other books in the future, but you'll just have to stay tuned for the details!

Would you consider yourself a multi-genre author?

Yes. I write both fantasy and science fiction, and my work spans multiple subgenres within these genres: urban fantasy, paranormal romance, science fiction, young adult.

What was your inspiration for writing Don't Call Me Angel?

I've always been a fan of books about angels and demons, and I wanted to give the concept a new twist.

Do you have any favorite authors?

Laini Taylor, Patrick Rothfuss, Brandon Sanderson, J.K. Rowling. These writers all inspire me in different ways. Ms. Taylor creates magnificent imagery that makes me just want to melt. Mr. Rothfuss seems to take his relatively new-found success with a great sense of humor. I admire him a lot. Mr. Sanderson writes the most amazing action scenes and endings. And Ms. Rowling's world-building is just magnificent. I often think about these writers as I'm working on my own stuff.

What inspired you to become an author?

One day, about six years ago, I was trying to determine what I'd do with myself if I could have any career I wanted without having to worry about income. I decided I'd be a writer. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to support myself with writing, but it makes me happy.

What do you want readers to take away with them when they've finished one of your books?

I'd like them to feel shock or satisfaction—not necessarily both.

Fun question...tell us a salaciously fun secret about yourself.

My husband and I are big fans of the naked vacation. In our minds, a getaway means getting away from our clothing, as well as our daily routines. So we seek out clothing optional resorts and beaches.

Thank you for the interview Alicia.

Thank you for having me!

Now for a little background on Don't Call Angel and it's Author

After crawling her way out of Hell, Six is ready to cast aside her angel wings and all the responsibilities that come with them. But Earth is not as peaceful as she imagined it. Demons, dark angels, and other hell-beasties escaped before her, and they're not as content as she is to live a quiet life on Earth.
A fellow angel who escaped Hell with her commits a series of soul-murders, destroying human souls so they can't go to the afterlife. Although Six has conflicting feelings about humans, she goes after the other angel to keep their escape a secret from the one she fears most.

Available on Paperback, Kindle, Nook, and Smashwords on June 15, 2012.

Alicia Wright Brewster is a mild-mannered lady of average height and above average paranormal obsession. By day, she works in an office. At night, she's an author, an electronics junkie, and a secret superhero. (Please don't ask what her superpower is. That's not very polite.)

In her virtually non-existent free time, she loves to read, watch movies, and eat food. She is particularly fond of the food-eating and makes a point to perform this task at least three times per day, usually more.
