Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness—beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I'd never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily...

Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other's most private wounds... and desires.

The bonds of his love transformed me, even as I prayed that the torment of our pasts didn't tear us apart...

My Review

It took me a while to write this review and it's not because I didn't enjoy the book..I really did. I just wanted to get my thoughts together. I’m new to Sylvia Day’s writing and I have to say I’m now a fan.

Eva and Gideon were very well written characters as they had all of the emotions of someone real, even though some of those emotions were a little too much. The story here is a good strong one and when you blend in characters that are as complex as Eva & Gideon AND you're able to get readers to somehow understand them...then that just speaks volumes.

Both Eva and Gideon are pretty much jacked up emotionally. How they even got as far as they did is beyond me, it seemed like they worked more toward ruining their relationship more.

Eva worked my nerves a little more than Gideon did, but she’s young and with her past and her moms...I can see why she is the way she is (not very trusting). Gideon I thought was a bit more workable. Yes he was controlling and a lil’ bit of stalkerish (I know that’s not a word). But in his defense, he was showing Eva HIS way of love. How he deals with things is different from what some other dude would do.

Everyone is comparing this to Fifty Shades…I have haven’t read Fifty yet…and I don’t know how fucked up Christian Gray was or is. So I can’t compare the stories here.

I do know that I enjoyed this book and Ms. Day has a new fan here. I’m anxious to read the 2nd book in this series. I want to see how Gideon & Eva get past their demons and work through their relationship. I also want to see what happens to Cary, Eva’s friend/roommate (can I say he needs his own book because whoa! he is just as messed up as our two main characters).

5 Kisses

Straight DEEP throat here people.

Now for some fun...

A couple of things I just want to add about those two ho’s (yup..that’s what I called them) in Gideon’s past…life…whateva.

This would have happened if I were Eva…

Maggie (can’t remember her whole name right..sorry I’m old) – “um listen chick, he doesn’t want you..Probably never has. I’m the new head bitch in Gideon’s life…so get to walking south before I take a stick to your ass. I’M NOT PLAYING WITH YOUR ASS EITHER!”

Corrine – “okay ONE ho…if you think you’re going to leave your RICH husband and come all the way back to the States to get with MY rich boyfriend…then you have LOST..YOUR..GODDAMN..MIND. If I were you, I would get back on the plane back to Spain or wherever your ASS came from because it is not going down AT ALL!

Later on that night at Gideon's Penthouse...

Gideon to me "did you curse out Maggie & Corrine today?"

Me to Gideon – "Yes love I did…but in my defense..you need to tell them ho’s they have got to go,
because I don’t share".

Gideon to me "You’re crazy, but I love you".

Me to Gideon "I know & you better".

Sorry..LOL! I had to share that because I was thinking it while I was reading...

Thanks for stopping through!
