I am everything you desire.
I am everything you fear.
I am lust and appetite.
I am vampire.

I am everything you desire. I am vampire.

Powerful and manipulative, Vasilije does as he pleases. A vampire beholden to no one, he takes what he desires, drinking deeply the pleasures this life has to offer.

When one of his own is staked, Vasilije must travel to New Orleans to exact his revenge. There he meets Sasa, a beautiful woman who arouses him like no other has for centuries. Vasilije's need for vengeance is equaled only by his passion for her, but what he finds in his revenge is just the beginning...

My Review

I liked, but didn't love this story. Some of the things I didn't like..mainly was Sasa. She wasn't a strong character for me. To me, you can't be snarky and strong one minute and then all weak and scary the next. She was way too insecure and I just didn't relate to her at all. There was no balance with her character and that I didn't like.

Vasilije was to impulsive...creating vamps all over the place and then not even really liking them...I also felt that he & Sasa got together much too quickly. I didn't think there was much of a connection between them. There was a huge difference between their characters and I just felt like they really didn't belong together. I really didn't connect with either one of them.

There was a lot of jumping around throughout the story as well and I kind of got the feeling like I was missing something. It also took a little long to get to the premise of the story, but it's a good one and I like the idea of it. A group of vampire warriors protecting the race against evil vamps who can't sire other vampires.

It looks to be an interesting series and I hope to catch book 2, Blood Betrayed.
