Blurb (Goodreads)

Kit Colbana—half breed, assassin, thief, jack of all trades—has a new job: track down the missing ward of one of the local alpha shapeshifters. It should be a piece of cake.

So why is she so nervous? It probably has something to do with the insanity that happens when you deal with shifters—especially sexy ones who come bearing promises of easy jobs and easier money.

Or maybe it’s all the other missing kids that Kit discovers while working the case, or the way her gut keeps screaming she’s gotten in over her head. Or maybe it’s because if she fails—she’s dead.

If she can stay just one step ahead, she should be okay. Maybe she’ll even live long to collect her fee.

My Thoughts

Kit Colbana is crazy..Damon is crazy. Pretty much everyone is this book is crazy, but its a crazy I like. This became a exciting and titillating read for me.

Kit lives in a hard and brutal world..a world where humans and paranormals live. Hired to find the nephew of the local Cat Alpha, Kit discovers a very cruel game that involves paranormal children and the closer they get, she finds out that she's more involved than she thinks.

I have to say that I didn't like Kit in the beginning of this story. I didn't much care for Damon either. But the more I read, the more I liked both of them. They both had depth..really all of people in this book did.

The building of this world and it's characters was nothing short of fantastic. Shiloh Walker who writes as JC Daniels is a wonderful story teller..the way she wove this story and the people in it was just good. You are immediately drawn to everyone and everything in this book no matter how harsh or cruel some of those things may be.

I'm looking forward to Night Blade, book 2 in the Colbana Files series and I hope its just as good.
