No safe word can protect the heart
Infamous erotica author and accomplished dominatrix Nora Sutherlin is doing something utterly out of character: hiding. While her longtime lover, Søren—whose fetishes, if exposed, would be his ruin—is under scrutiny pending a major promotion, Nora's lying low and away from temptation in the lap of luxury.

Her host, the wealthy and uninhibited Griffin Fiske, is thrilled to have Nora stay at his country estate, especially once he meets her traveling companion. Young, inexperienced and angelically beautiful, Michael has become Nora's protégé, and this summer with Griffin is going to be his training, where the hazing never ends.

But while her flesh is willing, Nora's mind is wandering. To thoughts of Søren, her master, under investigation by a journalist with an ax to grind. And to another man from Nora's past, whose hold on her is less bruising, but whose secrets are no less painful. It's a summer that will prove the old adage: love hurts.

My Thoughts

The Angel picks up a year after Nora sent Wesley home and went back to Soren..her priest. We learn a lot about Soren in the second story…a lot. I’m such a Soren fan right now, it’s really ridiculous. We also gain two new people to love and fascinate over and that is Griffin Fiske and Michael Dimir, I love these two together. Okay…lets get to it.

Soren ~ We finally learn about Soren. His past, his family…OMG, I cried like a damn baby reading about “my preist” and no I’m not catholic, but I swear I would become one if Soren was my priest…I really, really would. Soren is like this menacing world wind..very protective of those he love. That scene when he put Griffin ass on the floor…shiiittt, listen Soren wasn’t no muthaf**king joke. I think this book was more about Soren than anyone else that I read. Tiffany Riesz wants you to understand this man…understand why he is how he is. And by god, I do. I was so fiercely protective of him. I was upset every time someone said something bad about or towards him…even Wesley and I love Wesley!
But here’s the thing. Soren beats Nora..yes, but Nora wants it…she enjoys it and it just blew my mind that people around her..who knew Nora, didn’t get it. But that was just it, they didn’t get it, they didn’t understand it. But they also didn’t know Soren’s background like Nora did, so it was understandable that they didn’t like him.
There are still some things we don’t know about Soren and probably never will. It’s like his sister said even Soren has secrets he himself doesn’t know. But you like him more here…you truly will become a Soren fan by the end of this book.

Nora ~ I still love you Nora, I do. But I’m not happy with you right now. Nora still loves Wesley and that’s fine. But I think she’s a very selfish when it comes to Soren. No she’s not jealous, because yes Soren will be with other woman, he just won’t sleep with them. And I think Nora loves that because she can have him to herself even if she’s with someone else. That is very selfish and I swear this is the only thing I dislike about her. So she will go be happy with Wesley because Soren let her go. But here’s a question I have…will she TRULY be happy with him? Settle for his vanilla lifestyle? She loves him to death, but Nora is who she is. She didn’t change for anyone…so…
I honestly don’t want her back with Soren and it’s not because of their lifestyle. The relationship between Nora & Soren is consensual and I got so angry at anyone in this story who assumed that he some how force her into it. I believe Nora knew what she wanted the moment she popped out of her mother, so no..she wasn’t forced.
I want Soren to be happy with someone like she wants to be with Wesley. So…yeah I want Wesley and Nora to stay together. I want her ass to stay in Kentucky and away from my priest. I love you Nora, you are my biggest girl crush ever. You kiss me and I swear I would kiss your ass, but I don’t want you for Soren anymore.

Griffin Fiske & Michael Dimir ~ Oh I loved it. Michael and Griffin together is just beautiful. I’m so happy Nora & Griffin where able to help him over the Summer…help him come out of his shell. He was such a sweet young man and I think Griffin will be perfect for him. They will definitely balance each other out for sure. I’m glad Griffin “got rid” of Michaels dad and Michaels mom is finally happy to have her son back. It’s a hard thing to accept when your kids don’t turn out the way you expect them. But you love them just the same and I’m glad she did.

Suzanne ~ Well I really didn’t care for her at all. All fiery anger and passing judgment without learning the damn facts first. It was irritating to read, so many times I wanted to reach through my book and smack some damn sense into her. She had poor Patrick running around with his heart hanging out of his damn mouth forever and wouldn’t even attempt to commit to him…seriously I would have written her ass off way long time ago.
Don’t get me wrong, I understand how she felt about the church because if something like that happen to my brother, I would have found the one that did it and gave him nice “talking to” if you know what I mean. But you can’t going around thinking every Priest in the church is bad. I love how she always thought something bad about Soren…just knew she had him and then that shit would just fizzle out.
And then just to get some damn news about Soren, she sleeps with Kingsley…come on now. I’m just glad Soren told her it would be best if they didn't cross paths again. So yeah…go away Suzanne and don’t come back. But why do I have a feeling that we won’t be see the last of this chick..Tiffany you are killing me. Anyone but her please!

There wasn't much of Wesley in The Angel and what was there I really didn't care for. You cannot hate someone you don’t know. But he loves Nora and I think what’s eating at him is that he knows that yeah, Nora will leave Soren for him, but he KNOWS that Soren will always have her heart…always own her. That’s just my thought and I’m sticking with it.

Alright Tiffany..can I call you Tiffany? :) You pierced me again with your Original Sinners, but especially Soren. I’m still terrified to death of him, but hell he is one heck of a character…one hell of an Alpha male.

The Angel is a wonderful 2nd installment in this series. I loved it and I’m so looking forward to The Prince. I can add the paperback to my collection.
