Question of the Week:

It's Labor Day Weekend here in the States; the end of those long summer days, relaxing at the beach and family barbecues! Which three fictional book characters would you invite to a barbecue?

  •  Rhage from Black Dagger Brotherhood - Mainly because he's blond and gorgeous..he would be my arm candy. Plus he funny as all hell and if I need something warmed up, he can just bring out his dragon & heat it up for me ;)

  • I gotta go with Simi from Acheron too - I can here my mother muttering under her breath "that chile is crazy..who puts barbecue sauce on cake"...lol!

  • Lastly, I would have to bring Fritz from BDB - because it would be a riot to see him & my uncle fighting over the grill.

Those are my choices...what about you? who would you invite to your BBQ?

Natasha Blackthorne's Grey's Lady Is Now @ Bookstrand

Hi Sexxy People!

Grey's Lady by Natasha Blackthorne is now at BookStrand is it for a whopping $3.12...you cannot beat that!

The link to buy is here...BookStrand

Here's is the blurb from Goodreads

Seeking sexual excitement and conquest, poor but beautiful Beth seduces wealthy merchant prince Grey Sexton, only to find herself the pursued as he seeks to own her body and soul.

Flouting the moral standards of Jeffersonian America, temptress Beth McConnell lets no man touch her heart. Her motto is love them once and leave them burning.

But when she boldly seduces Grey Sexton, a self-controlled merchant prince from New York, she finds herself too fascinated by his ice-over-fire nature to stay away. His possessive determination to own her, body and soul, threatens to expose her secret erotic life to public shame.

But Beth will only surrender her love to a man she can trust. And Grey's materialistic approach to relationships leaves her little reason to believe he can ever give her what she truly needs.

For these two cynical yet lonely people, can deep sexual intimacy work a miracle and lead to the opening of their hearts?

Reader Advisory: This is a work of Erotic Historical Romance and it uses the graphic language and situations of Erotic Romance. Grey's Lady is a short novella of approx. 66 pages. As part of a series, Grey's Lady is the prequel to White Lace & Promises.

Grey's Lady is a totally hot historical read and I loved it! Here's my Review.

Review: A Midsummer's Sin by Natasha Blackthorne

Published: July 16, 2012
Format: eBook (ARC)
**provided by author for honest review
Available: Total-E-Bound (multiple eBook formats available)

Blurb (Goodreads)

Goodman Thomas Marlowe needs a wife. He loves his neighbour’s bondswoman Rosalind Abramson but for all the wrong reasons. The carnal passion he feels for her is at odds with his vision of the perfect marriage—something shaped by the memory of the pure, pious union he shared with his late wife. Valiantly, he fights to keep his feelings hidden.

Rosalind yearns for the handsome Goodman Marlowe. Yet beneath his kind action lies a cool distance that tells her he cannot forgive Rosalind’s shameful past. She’s determined to deny an infatuation with a man who will never respect her.

However, Thomas cannot focus on finding a bride while the unsuitable Rosalind is always so close and so alluring. Now he’s about to take a teaching position in another town. It’s the perfect escape for a man tormented by unacceptable desire.

Late one night, in the midst of a summer’s hot spell, Thomas spies Rosalind in the woods, clad only in her shift, dancing in the moonlight. It’s really more than a man celibate for three years can bear. Thomas is in danger of falling into a sin so powerful, it threatens to challenge everything he believes in...

Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of sensual spanking and issues surrounding previous death and grief. This an Erotic romance and uses the strong, graphic language and situations of erotic romance.

My Thoughts

I remember when I first started reading historical romances..how I was so engulfed in the stories of love and just the premise of a woman being swept off her feet by someone who she totally wasn't expecting. I haven't read historical romances in a loooong while and Natasha Blackthorne is one of the reasons why I started to love this genre again.

Her writing is so just fabulous and her stories are just to die for...simply because of the reason I stated above. She simply makes historical romance very very enjoyable.  I can't say that I know of a writer who has taken the word "fucking" and made it a hot read in historicals...Natasha has managed to do this for me.

A Midsummer's Sin is just an erotic and compelling as Natasha's other books. And it's just as engaging and entertaining. In this novella, you have two people Thomas and Rosalind who are desperately in love with one another and want each other just as disparately. Presently puritans, they both struggle with their pasts of sins more so Thomas than Rosalind. As Thomas struggle with is demons and his lust for Rosalind, will he lose her? or have her to hold forever?

With novella's, it is hard to review without giving away the story...but I'm not telling. You'll have to read the book. If you have not read a book by Natasha Blackthorne, then you simply must. You are missing out on some of the most sensual, sexual, historical writing ever.

As always Ms. Blackthorne, a Midsummer's Sin is a highly recommended read here at Salacious Reads.

Other works by Natasha..

Review ~ Seven Years To Sin by Sylvia Day

Re-Publshed: August 28, 2012
First Pushed: August 30, 2011
Format: eBook (ARC)
**provided by publisher through NetGalley
Available: Barnes & Noble / Amazon / Book Depository

Blurb (Goodreads)

Seven years ago, on the eve of her wedding, proper Lady Jessica Sheffield witnessed a licentious scene no innocent young miss could imagine. Shocked, yet strangely titillated, she'd held her silence regarding scandalous Alistair Caulfield, and walked down the aisle as expected. But through years of serene, unremarkable marriage, Caulfield's image remained burned into her imagination, fueling very illicit dreams. . .

...the sweeter the reward

Alistair ran far from the temptation of the prim debutante with the fire of passion in her eyes all the way to the West Indies. As a successful merchant, he has little in common with the rakehell youth she knew. But when newly widowed Jessica steps aboard his ship for a transatlantic passage, seven years' worth of denied pleasures are held in check by nothing more than a few layers of silk and the certainty that surrender will consume them both.

My Thoughts

Take two people who where abused..one physically and the other emotionally. Put them together in a relationship and you wonder if or how said relationship will even last.

Seven Years To Sin starts of with Jessica Sheffield on the eve of her marriage to Lord Tarley. She's attracted to him, but there is also a strong attraction to the much younger Alistair Caulfield, which she dismisses.

Later that night before her wedding, Jessica spies Alistair "servicing" one of the Ladies in the forest. This one night starts the premise of a story that is beyond mesmerizing. While Jessica marries Lord Tarley and becomes the proper dutiful wife..Alistair takes to sailing to far lands to in part to escape from his families guilt of his bastard birth and his raging feelings for Jessica.

Seven years later with the passing of her husband, Jessica and Alistair cross paths again. Alistair Caulfield is now a self made man and when the opportunity arises for him to finally have Jessica as his, he eagerly takes it.

This story was so good and just as sad. Told from Jessica's and Alistair's POV, it made for a very enjoyable read.

Separated for seven years due to Jessica's marriage to Alistair's best friends older brother and also because Alistair was the youngest of his brothers and therefore, not a suitable match for marriage.

The more I read, the more intrigued I became with these characters. For they both were so flawed that they equally felt they weren't worthy of each others love. Jessica because she was now older and barren and Alistair because of his sordid past.

I loved how Ms. Day gave these people real struggles, it gave them so much more depth. With Jessica being phyically abused and Alistair, emotionally abused..I had to wonder how this story was going to end. Was it going to have a HEA? well that my lovelies is for you to find out.

Just know that this story will have you riveted...at least it did for me. I also liked the fact that Jessica's sister Hester was also inputted into this tale. Hester & Michael need their own book *coughs* hint...hint...

Highly recommended read.

**This was also part of my NetGalley challenge (I don't know why I always forget to post..)

Hey you guys! I know, I know, this is a super late post. But, better late then never right? I had a long day so I'm just now getting around to posting anything. This weeks Tuesday Jams pick is a tad bit different. I'm picking a YouTube artist or... better yet, a YouTube Group!! I absolutely love this group. First off, who is it that I picked? FOURTUNATE!! Fourtunate is a group of 4 guys from Australia... yepp, you heard that right ladies, AUSTRALIA! I heard of them back when they first made their first YouTube video and have loved them ever since. They don't have any of their own music out, but they do covers/mash-ups of hit songs. The group consists of 3 brothers and a friend of theirs, age range from 17-20 *sigh* I can look, but I can't touch lmbo. Me and younger men do NOT mix! lol. Anywhooo, they recently just auditioned AGAIN for Australia's X-Factor *round of applause* and they blew the judges away! Here's my favorite covers from them and the last video is their audition

Wheeew! You know I love me some Marvin Gaye and when I heard they covered this song, I just melted a little ;)

Ahh. Okay, I love this cover too ^_^ *sigh* Something about a guy who can sing... and play guitar?? Shoot. If you can do that, you just won my heart ;)

Last but not least... their X-Factor audition!

Meet the guys!!
Left to right: Jaye, Joseph, Izayah and Jakiel

That's my pick for this week. Hope y'all enjoyed it :)

Salacious Randomness (#10)

Happy Hump Day Sexxy People!

I finished Seven Years to Sin by Sylvia Day...wow, what a read. A very good & thought provoking book...I loved it. My review will be posted Wednesday or Thursday.

I brought books. I know..I know, I'm supposed to be on a book buying ban (imposed by myself) and you're probably like...

But, I actually went outside for lunch today & then I walked myself to a B&N and well you can pretty much guess what happened next...
so excited Pictures, Images and Photos
...as soon as I hit the door..smh

On a TOTALLY other random note...I saw this article in yesterday's Metro. NJ Woman suffers from spontaneous orgasms.

1) if she's married, I feel really bad for her husband...like dude, how can you compete with THAT?!!
2) I live in Jersey...why don't I have this affliction. #justsaying

I hope you enjoyed today's randomness...muah!

Alpha-Males After Dark (#1)

Hosted by Ana @ Beach Bum Reads and Neyra @ Darkest Addictions, Alpha-Males After Dark is at 18+ meme that lets you show off a smutty scene from one of your favorite books with said alpha male of your choice. You'll also have to state why this male is your favorite. Just be a follower of either of the host sites and be sure to link back to Beach Bum Reads Or Darkest Addictions.

You know I saw this post at both Beach Bum Reads & Darkest Addictions and just had to join. I have so many book boyfriends that I stalk...err I mean like. Anyways, let me start with Vishous from BDB..yeah that big ol vamp who smokes those turkish cigs & leaves us poor, sex-starved woman wanting him despite the fact that he's a fictional character...THAAAT I most definitely wish was the real muthaf**ing deal. But alas he's not, but a girl can definitely dream and fantasize....

Oh yeah, lets get to that scene...

"The gag first," he told her, opening his mouth wide. Her eyes shut for a moment, and he wondered if she was going to stop, but then she leaned forward. The ball tasted like latex, a stinging, bitter bite on his tongue. As he lifted his head so she could strap it on him, his breath whistled through his nose.
Jane shook her head. "I can't do the mask. I need to see our eyes. I can't...Yeah, I won't do this without eye contact. Okay?"
It was probably a good idea. The gag was doing what it should, making him feel suffocated...and the restraints were doing what they should, making him feel trapped. If he couldn't see and know that it was her, he'd probably totally fucking loose it.
Then he nodded again even as his thighs twitched and his eyes bugged out. With dread and excitement, he watched as she extended her arm over his chest....and tipped the candle.
Black wax dripped unto his nipple, and he ground his teethe into the ball gag, straining against what kept him on the table until the leather creaked. His cock jumped on his belly, and he had to suck back the orgasm.

And she faints--> me that is...

Why? because it's V...Vishous, that ladies is it in a nutshell or should I say ball gag.
I mean who wouldn't fall for a man who would let you tie him to a table & pour wax on him. AND then HE orgasms...lawd! why can't he be real.

He makes me feel like this...
