Movie/DVD Review ~ African Cats (2011)

Released: April 2011
Documentary, Adventure
Disney Nature Series

A nature documentary centered on two cat families and how they teach their cubs the ways of the wild.

This is a different review for me...not my usual movie, but I came across this one last night & just loved it. The movie follows two big cat families...the females mainly as they raise their young in the African plains.

You had Nalla, the Lioness and her cub...and then there was Seeta, the cheetah and her cubs. There was a mixture of happiness & sadness throughout the film. You got a glimpse of how both cats survived as they hunted for their young while protecting them as well.

What I didn't know until watching this film was that Lions & Cheetah are like arch enemies...who knew? They also documented the males in the pride as they challenge each other for one another's pride. It was something really awesome to watch.

This film was one of the best animal documentary's I've seen in a long while and I really appreciate that Disney made such a well made one.

Well worth the time spent watching it.

Lata Days...MUAH!

Great movie review. I never knew that either Lions and Cheetahs arch enemies. I love animal documentries. Going to have to check this out. I watched one on Tv and I was practically in tears. They made it seem like the baby cub got attacked by a heina cause it was hiding in a little cave but then came back to comerical and it survived. Then later it the show it ended dead because it got caught by another heina. It was so good I was so engrossed in it. I was laughing because the brother never left the mother at the age he was suppose to. He lounged around all day in trees while mommy got his food. They said he was like a teenager. Loved it!
