When Krista needs Ariel’s biochemical expertise because her new boyfriend can turn into a mountain lion, Ariel thinks her sister has lost her mind. But the possibility of a major discovery like this is too much of a temptation to ignore. Create a drug to stop a shifter from forcing a mating? Only if she got to test his sexual limits herself.

Rob thinks Ariel is an angel in disguise, and he immediately knows she’s the one for him. But is he strong enough to resist his animal’s need to claim her once the temptation begins?
I have to admit I wasn't a fan of this particular book in the series and it was mainly because I did not like Ariel. I thought she was a little too reckless and her actions left me more than irritated. In my opinion, she put herself and the Woods Brothers at risk for the sake her study. Rob was different, he seemed the more calmer..gentler than the rest of the brothers. At least there was more of a plot or I should say story here because Ariel is asked to help find a way to help the Brothers with their need to mate with any available female by making a drug. Also, there was a little rivalry for Ariel between Rob & Jack because they were still un-mated.

But despite my dislike of Ariel, I still liked the story and the sex?....well it was hot enough to melt your panties off.

Lillian Caldwell has eyes on the hottie with the body, Jack Woods, one of the men who bought her family land and now new boss. She has big plans for Jack, including the getting-him-horizontal variety, and she always gets what she wants.

Jack is the family hard ass who’s trying to make amends. His plans of digging into the family secret he discovered are thwarted when he’s forced to work with Lillian, his gorgeous, pain-in-the-ass neighbor.

But a night of passion will unlock the secrets surrounding them and change both their lives forever.

Now, this story I liked and even though Lillian was a little of an irritation to read, I still liked her. She was funny as all get out and the girl knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to go after it, she gave Jack quite a run here and it was hysterical to read. I actually felt bad for him...but in a good way. Jack is the hard nosed brother...a lil gruff, but here he is feeling guilty because of his actions in Rob & Ariel's story. He now wants to prove to his family that he can be a better brother.

I liked Jack & Lillian together because they were straight up with each other and I liked how Jack took his time with Lillian as he showed her what her life would be like after he mated with her by mistake. I also like how Lillian stuck up for Jack...she was my kind of chick.

Now the thing I did not like was the big family secret that was let loose towards the end of the story. I didn't like the placement of it and I just felt it was kinda thrown in there and didn't fit. I just didn't feel a realness or connection to it because no one was really mad enough after it was told..they got over it too quickly.

So even with that minor issue, so far Surrounded by Secrets is my favorite in the series. The sex scenes here are just like the other stories...scorching!
