Oh Laura Kaye, u are making me miss vamps...like I need a Eric or Edward like right now. This is a short story in Ms. Kayes Vampire Warrior King series. The characters were very likable and I enjoyed the premise of the story-line. Kael who is the vampire king in Ireland suddenly finds himself extremely attracted to one of the “human virgins” that is offered to him. But Kael doesn't want to mate again since losing his first wife and child.

The story was short, but I felt it was complete. Ms Kaye gives us just enough details of the characters and the background of the story arc without over doint it…she balances it all out.

A lot of things happen pretty fast in In the Service of the King and then there is that ever pain in the butt "inta-love" but its 74 pages, things should happened kind of instantaneously I think.

If you want a quick and sexy erotic vampire read...something to fill in between those long stories, then this little book is for you. Try it out.

  2. I enjoyed this one too. But yeah it's short! I just read the latest in the series Taken by the Vampire King. I liked it more than this one but it's pretty quick too.

  3. I actually brought this one by mistake...lols. I wanted hearts in darkness & clickeed on this one instead. My only complaint is the price...think it should be 1.99 for this amount of pages. Still a good read though.

  4. I saw that one around....I'll probably check it out soon. At least the price is a lil better. These are great lil fill ins between longer reads & book slumps.
