I’m totally girl crushing on M.J. Kane right now, her Butterfly Memoir series is completely doing it for me right now.

The second book in the series is just as engaging as the first one. The characters here (Zach & Yasmine) have both been hurt in the past and at this point in their lives, they are very hesitate to jump back into the relationship game. But they have this serious attraction toward one another that obviously can’t be denied…so how will these friends who become lovers work through their own self doubts and fears?

Ah Ms. Kane, you took very serious real life issues and made them work around this story and its characters. Yasmine and Zach were a couple I could easily identify with, to read how these two good people learned to trust one another and love again was so sweet and heartbreaking all at the same time. And I don’t even know how you possibly did that, but you did.

Their characters were so totally relatable…the doubts and questions that you could easily ask yourself were reflected so well in the stories arc. As with the first book, so many things are covered, race, gender issues such as why can’t women have multiple sleeping partners without the stigma of being called a “Ho” and a multitude of other things. But really these two issues are in the background of Jaded. I felt like with Yasmine’s & Zach’s story it was more of learning to simply trust again…how to move pass the pain of the past and move forward towards a happy future.

Excellent story, Excellent characters, Excellent read. I highly recommend reading Jaded…I highly recommend reading this series. Looking forward to Kaitlyn's story next.

  1. Sounds interesting! I lol'ed at "ho", but it's totally true, women get branded as that easily if they sleep around.

  2. Lols...yep, totally true. We always get the bad end of the stick if we do half the things that men do.

    I totally loved this story.

  3. Thank you so much! I saw this on Goodreads, but have just found your blog! I'm glad you feel in love with the characters! The 'ho topic was fun to write about because that reference has always been a pet peeve of mine. It's like the pot calling the kettle black! LOL. Yasmine and her sassy attitude were the perfect match for the the subject matter. I wanted to show how a woman can be misunderstood for her actions when what she really wants is more, and wasn't Zack the perfect one to see her through! And of course adding in the additional story line makes it that much better. A lot of my heart went into writing this story. Thank you again for sharing this wonderful review with your readers!!!

PS, I am about to link this to my blog! :)

  4. Your are more than welcome. Im so glad I found your books on the romance in col
