This week quotes is courtesy of the Sharing Space series by Nina Perez. I had the most absolute fun reading this series over the week and loved it.

Book 1 - Roommate Wanted (Chloe and Patrick first meet and he doesn't exactly look Irish...)

"Are you Irish? You don't look Irish."

He smirked again and I realized it was the way he smiled that gave off the smartass impression. The right side of his mouth went up in kind of a half smile. There was something cocky yet boyish about it.

"Yes, I am. My brothers tease that my father was really the mailman. My sisters prefer the whole mommy and daddy found you in the garbage tale."

"I guess I expected fair skin, red hair, freckles-"

"And a vagina. You also expected a vagina."

My mouth fell open in surprise. We'd just met. He couldn't toss around vagina jokes! He ignored the look on my face and kept going.

"The fair skin, red hair, and freckles would be my older sister, Margaret, and my brother Liam. And before you ask there are seven of us: in order from oldest to younges are Thomas, Kellam, Margaret, Catherine, Liam, myself and Charlotte." He ticked off each name with his fingers. "What about you?"

"Me? I'm not Irish." I said.

He Squinted at me briefly and then laughed. I joined in after a moment.

Book 2 - Family Ties (The First Kiss...)

This kiss started off as awkward and chaste, but with all the neck caressing, pelvic pressing and tongue, it soon became exploratory and in a word, hot.

"Wow." That was all he said and, even though there were dozens of thoughts rushing around my brain, "wow" seemed to sum this up quite nicely.

Book 3 - Slow Burn (Crystal, Chloe's cousin joking on her because she hasn't slept with Patrick yet...)

"You haven't had sex yet?" I thought Crystal's eyes were going to pop out of her head.

"No, settle down."

"Why not?"

"I told you. We're taking it slow."

"Ha!" Crystal cackled. "Girl, there's taking it slow and then there's standing still. And you two are going in reverse."

"Stop laughing. Don't make me sorry I told you."

"Sorry. You know I'm just messing with you. Seriously are you afraid or something?"

"What would I have to be afraid of?"

"I don't know. You tell me. You're the one all wrapped up but not giving him any. Oh, I can't wait to see this white boy. He must be something. You sitting there blushing. He got your nose wide open."

"I'm leaving"

Book 4 - Taking Chances (Patrick first meets Chloe's mom who is a retired NYC detective...)

"Hello Patrick. She walked towards me, extending her hand.

"It's nice to meet you, Mrs. Brooks."

"Are you a good guy?"

Her question took me by surprise.

"Mother," Chloe said sharply.

"I'm not sure I understand."

Mrs. Brooks crossed her arms over her chest and rested her weight on one hip. She made eye contact and I was afraid to even blink. "Chloe tells me you're a good guy. I just want to know if that's true."

"I, uh, try to be?"

"Is that a question?"

"No, I am. A good guy."

"For your sake, you better be."

"Okay, that's it!" Chloe came over and slipped her arm around my waist. "You're scaring the hell out of him."

"Oh calm down, Chloe. I'm just messing with him." Her stern face dissolved into a smile followed by deep laughter, but I wasn't so sure she had been.

Book 5 - Winter Wishes (getting ready for New Year's Eve...)

"I'm going with WTF. It's a bright red. I figure since I'm already dressed like a hooker-"

"What-the-hell-ever. I picked out that dress. You do not look like a hooker. If Patrick has any sense, he's going to love you in that dress."

Book 6 - Before Forever (the proposal...)

"I love you. More than any woman I've ever known or will know. I'm always going to love you. Everything that we've been through these past few months doesn't matter. That was the before."

"Before what?" I tried to swallow the large sump in my throat.

"Before forever." He pulled a black ring box out of his pocked and opened the lid. His hands were shaking and that, more than the beautiful diamond ring inside the box, made me cry.

Well, that's it. My quotes from all six books in the Sharing Space series.

  1. oooh The Damsel and the Daggerman was pretty good! Hope you enjoy it :)

  2. LOOOOL I can't stop laughing! I have to read this, I just have to!

  3. Hey Sophia! Its what I loved so much about it, there was just the mixture of everything here :)

  4. lols...these are just some of my favorites in the whole series. There are a ton of them that will have you in stitches.

  5. I think I'm going hang with you Sophia and just stick to my reviews & TBR list. Although there is one I just have to get in Feb...just one :D

but I really need to get my review list down & I promised myself I would start my TBR challenge in Feb.

    Love D. Dawson series...such fun!

  6. Thanks Melissa! where you been girl? how you doing?

  7. I've been hiding :D jkjk just staying busy!! I'm doing okay, how about you Ms Sexy? :)

  8. lols, I hear you. Me too, just working...tring to stay out of trouble?...lols.

  9. Speaking of review lists...what is your opinion about unsolicited review books. I get them in the mail, I get them in my emailbox, and I even get them on Net Galley. So far I have been trying to read them by their release dates, but only if I can do it by not setting aside a book I agreed to review or chose to review. Is that what you do?

  10. honestly, if its unsolicited...I ususally let them know that either I can't get to in the time frame they need it or I just let them know I just have to pass. I really depends on the book itself, if its something I'm interesting in reading, I'll take a chance and review it...but I still let them know that it's not going to be by the release date.

I wanted to start get myself in the habit of not just accepting everything, you know? I get them mainly email...got a couple via NetGalley. When I first started reviewing, I got so bogged down, it was out of control. I still have a couple that I got in the mail that I have to review too.

  11. right?!...lols. loved that one...poor Patrick, not! lols!

  12. Way to go Sharonda! Just a few more days left in January!

  13. Woot! Don't you just love Netgalley and Edelweiss? I'll have to say it's a big money saver. Yet, for me my 1-click finger is out of control so I can NOT stop spending on Amazon lol

  14. You saved me Shari :) I'm telling you, I was just clicking away.

I'm sticking with it...not going to get anything until next month :)

  15. lols. Nina that's why I had to sit down and finally do something. So glad Shari decided to make this a feature. It helps so much more :)

My son got me a Kindle for xmas..girl. One clicking became a bad habit...lols.
