Cutting The Budget - Week 5/The End Of the Month

Share it Please

Hosted by Shari over at Delighted Reader. It's a great way to keep track on that book spending limit we seem to set ourselves up on, but never seem to follow...

Well, January 2014 is over..that's it and I...I did not go over my remaining balance of $2.87. Well, you probably knew that if you saw my monthly wrap-up video, lols.

So now for Feburary, I have $32.87. And I didn't have to spend any money of the book I really wanted to get because Sienna Mynx is one awesome ass author, she sent me the 4th book in her Battaglia Mafia Series, La Famiglia. I brought the first three books earlier last year.

So my spending limit for this past week is $0 people. Nothing, nada...I'm happy with that :D

How did you do this month with your book budget? did you go over? maybe not?

  1. I think I spent $5-6 this week on ebooks. I did get lots of freebies too. I keep saying this, but I need to do a book budget as well. Sounds like a good idea to keep track of how much I'm spending on books since I tend to go overboard with the buying. My reading pile is crazy at the moment.

  2. Hey Nina!

I was good and didn't click at all, although I wanted to...lols. But this budget has really helped me out alot because I was going overboard too. I don't even want to look at my reading pile, I might start crying...lol!

  3. Great vid Sharonda. I was also in a book funk for the month of January so didn't get as much reading in as I wanted.

Looking forward to more from you in February! Nathasa Blackthorne has been on my list forever of historical romance authors to read but haven' t so can't wait to hear what you think.

P.S. Love your hair by the way!

  6. trust me when I say it was very hard ;D

I had to get up from the computer sometimes, but it doesn't help when you have your cell phone on you too...LOL!

  7. Ha! Tell me about it. Half of the books I purchase are through my phone lol

  8. thank you! everytime I went to click, I was like "nope...can't do it" lols. It was hard! ikr, I was dancing around my living room :D my son was looking at me like I lost my mind, lols.

thats so cool that you were able to lower your budget amount. I'm going to stick with the $30 bucks for now, hopefully I'll never have to raise it. I had to step away from Amazon, those free 1 clicks were killing me, lols. My kindle library is almost out of control.

  9. Yes, hurting the authors...some of them don't mind and take a 'when you get to it' approach, but committing to tours and release day stuff doesn't leave much wiggle room for funks.

I'm not sure if I'm glad your review is posting so soon or not. I can see myself getting excited after reading your review and putting a dent in my book budget. Just kidding, sort of...

  10. I just love shaking up the kids. I've had them eye me in public and I've even gotten lectures before we get out of the car about not embarrassing them. Ha! Challenge accepted, kiddo! And the bad part is...I'm not that interesting. They're just sensitive. I sing in the car and shower, talk to my books, once in a while have a fashion faux pas, but doesn't everybody? LOL

  11. I gave myself a break and didn't sign up for many tours cuz your right, you just can't be in a funk when you're reading for them.

Girl, its good too. All sorts of drama and sexiness going on up in this book, whew!

  12. of course we have...lols. I still do, my son is too the point where he just shakes his head, LMBO! I follow him around and ask "I'm not embarrassing you right?" lols!!!

  13. Oh, I hope so. I thought this series sounded pretty intense and passionate. That's why I know its a weakness for me to race out and get it.

  14. And we just smile and think...wait until its your turn and you'll see just how fun it is to torture teenagers of your own. Smirk!

  15. ::snort:: I'm dying over your beginning. lol

  16. if I was so being so lazy to type...this post would have been a bust, lols!

  17. You're killing me with this. The whispered *I didn't like that one* ahhh you are too cute with this. I'm still watching.

  18. LOL ah that was a nice monthly round up Sharonda! You are so brave getting on camera like that.

And I know all about those reading slumps. January started out really rough for me. I just couldn't get into anything. Managed to have a lot of reviews on the blog but only b/c they'd been read in Dec and were waiting ot be posted. Thank goodness. Finally dug my way out of that but I totally get that feeling. Not fun at all.

  19. thank you Anna :) this year, I told myself to get a little bit better at doing my Youtube videos.

reading funks are never good so I just take a break...better for me and the author :)

  20. Definitely agree. I tried then just put them away and worked on other stuff for a while. So wouldn't have been able to review when in that mood.

    ReplyDelete
  21. yep, a review can't be good when you're in that kind of a mood.

  22. Not bad at all Sharonda! I don't know my exact but thinking I went slightly over my 30 buck plan. But wasn't all for me. Had a book signing a few days ago and bought 4 books total-- 2 gifts, 1 giveaway and 1 for me. Taking out the gifts/giveaway one though I rocked it and came in under budget :)

    Happy shopping in Feb!

    ReplyDelete
  23. thanks Anna :D

that still isn't bad and at least you can contribute it to the book signing you know? so not bad at all missy :)

Happy shopping! I already got some I need to get...lols.

  24. Loved this update! I don't video well, but I might try it some time. It seems much more personal than just listing things!

  25. thanks Shari! Its fun too...I am more than camera shy, but this was fun I have to admit. Plus it just save so much more time of typing & looking for covers to post. Usually, I'll show my covers from my NOOK & Kindle, but i was so frustrated at getting the beginning right...lols.
