Thought I would go a little old skool today :D

So... I ain't going old school... but I can if you want ;) haha. But in all seriousness, my pick for this week is country music. My sister recently gave me a list of songs that she's currently into... I'm not new to country music, I love it! But when I was listening to it, my sister would say, "can you turn that off?!" and today I got a text saying, "I've been in a classical and country mood for the longest. In a freaky way, I'm enjoying it. I'm slowly starting to feel like I've found my music identity. Ahaha." Well... yeah! DUH! xDD So, courtesy of my baby sister, I'm going to share with you 3 different songs that have been recommended to me by her. So, now we get to listen to them together. :) Enjoy!

Well, well, thank you Mr. Alexander! LIVE A LITTLE! Catchy. I can dig it :)

oh snap! ^_^ HE IS CUTE! EEEP. Good song too :) Feel good indeed. This could possibly be my chillin' summer song!

okay! I've heard this song before, but I'm glad my sister added it to her list of songs, cause I LURVE this song ^_^ #MakeMeWanna #IAintCountryButILoveIt

#BookReview: Angel by Lola Dodge (Manhattan Ten #4)

Source: Author
Format: ePub (ARC)
Published: March 24, 2015
Author: Lola Dodge
Series: Manhattan Ten #4
Genre: Contemporary Superhero Romance
Heat: Strong Sexual Tension
Available: Amazon | BN | Publisher | Kobo | +Goodreads

My Review

Angelina Marquez is the very much hands on assistant to the many heroes of the Manhattan Ten team. She is the glue that holds everything together and she handles everything from bailing our heroes out of trouble to setting up press releases. She also has powerful memory retention where she is able to recall and retain everything she has ever seen. To Angel her perfect memory keeping skills is sometimes a blessing...sometimes a curse but of late, it seems to be more of a curse than anything.

In her story, Angel is sent to LA to recruit a new hero for the team, investigate a possible leak within the LA heroes headquarters and keep one antsy panther out of trouble. Yes, Tequani returns...he is Panther's older brother. He is in the states to visit Pan and new sister in law Ivory when he gets into a little bit of trouble at LAX airport. Angel is running on little to no sleep when she is sent to LA and she is also stressed out. What she doesn't need is the distraction of Quan’s sexiness along with everything else that is going on. When someone she thought she could trust betrays her and the heroes...Quan just may be exactly the distraction that Angel needs.

Angel and Tequani were perfect together and I’m happy to see that she finally gets her HEA and I've been taken with Quan since we met him in the previous MT book. This is a wonderfully sweet romance with just about enough sexual tension and superhero action thrown in. I absolutely adore this series and Lola hasn't steered me wrong with any of her heroes yet. The world and character building as always is expertly done and for a novella length tale, Ms. Dodge doesn't leave you hanging at all with Angel.

I love the family feel of the heroes in the Manhattan Ten group, how they always have each other back no matter how irritated they may be with each other at the time. Also, Lola has such a wonderful array of characters, its a very diverse world in the MT series and I love that.

If you have a deep love of heroes who are flawed but definitely fierce and sexy, then you will love the Manhattan Ten.

I don't remember where I came across this song but it just stuck in my head once I started listening to it.

The song I picked for this week is called Made In The USA by Demi Lovato... I wouldn't say I'm a huge Demi fan, but I do love her music and her voice. And I absolutely love this song. Just... it makes me swoon. Sigh... so good. :)

Review: Secrets of A Fat Girlfriend by Alexandra Andersen

Secrets of A Fat Girlfriend
Goodreads
Author: Alexandra Andersen
Publisher: In Vino Publishing (March 14, 2013)
Genre: Adult, Contemporary Romance, 119 pages
ASIN: ASINB00BUFR8EAMy Copy: eBook
SUMMARY:
Sixteen years is a long time to carry a torch for a man. Ava Costa is a self-made success, smart, pretty, and half the woman she used to be. Recently divorced, she’s created a fabulous new life for herself…that’s missing just one tiny piece of the puzzle – love.

Ava tracks down her college sweetheart Patrick and as their love affair ignites, suddenly her life starts to unravel. Now she’s wondering if carrying the torch was really worth it...will Patrick complete her life or destroy it?

REVIEW:
Where to start. Where. To. Start. There was a number of things that I couldn't stand with this book. I did finish the book though, so I can rant a little. I'll give myself that much. The way this book is set up, you'd think you're in for a lengthy read, you're not. Everything gets crammed into this 119 pages book and at some points you're thinking, holy shit...time lapse is way overpowering. There is just too much going on for such a short book. Now, if it were lengthened a bit, I might have been a bit more nice with my rating.

Ava Costa, beautiful, smart and holds herself up like any woman should. Except for when it comes to a certain man in her life. And that man just happens to be her first love, the man who broke her heart ten years ago and makes her crumble with his poetic words. After being apart for ten years, Ava fins herself divorces and having gained and lost over 100 lbs and looking for someone to make her feel complete. And the only way she thinks she can do that is by going back to the man she once loved and still loves. Patrick.

Now, because this book was so short, I'm not going to give you a gazillion worded review, but lets just say there was a brief mention of Ava's ex-husband, Jed, who was at trust fund brat and didn't have any kind of motivation for life, aside from using and abusing money and Ava's money, regardless of his trust. Ava's best friend Melia who married a NFL player and had children and still looks hawt regardless of what she shoves down her throat. Ava's mother and mother and law whom are close friends even though Ava and Jed are divorced. And a few others. The books has the potential to be great but I feel like everything had certain points that needed to be made in order for the book to come to its happily ever after. Everything was just so.... abrupt and thrown at you for your to digest as you please.

With that, I'm leaving you with my rating. 2 whopping brazen babes. I wouldn't recommend this book. It does have its good parts and I will say that some of the minor characters I would definitely love to know more about, as they were more interesting to me than the main character and her love life.

#BookReview: Kilted for Pleasure by Melissa Blue

Source: Author
Format: eBook/Mobi (ARC)
Published: March 10, 2015
Author: Melissa Blue
Series: Under the Kilt #3
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Heat: Strong Sexual Content
Available: Amazon | BN | ARe | Smashword

My Review

I totally love this series and I have to say that Kilted for Pleasure is my favorite. This is the 3rd book in the series and this story is Callan’s. Ian’s and Tristan’s cousin, this story also takes place in Scotland.

Victoria Burke has come to Scotland on behalf of her boss Ian Baird to help convince his cousin Callan to take on a job of restoring older artifacts from a Scottish castle. Thing is this scot is not the nicest. He’s grouchy, but Victoria has a job to do and she will get it done. Trying to rebuild her career after a scandal that happened back in the states that pretty much ruined the start up of her career, she can’t afford to let some brutish scotman get in her way to prove herself to her new boss.

Callan Baird is drowning in debt after the death of his wife. He’s also trying to save up money to finally put a headstone on her grave. But as much as he loves his cousins, he refuses to take their money even if they are offering him a job. Small little odd jobs here and there will do him fine...so he wished his cousins would just leave him be in his misery. Then they send Victoria Burke to convince him to take the latest job Ian has offered. Hell bent on telling her no and sending her packing, he realizes he can’t and that pisses him off. Callan hasn’t been this attracted to a woman since his wife. Sure, fulfilling his needs? yeah, that’s one thing but to actually start having feelings? No.

Today I"m going with En Vogue. I absolutely love this song by them. It's my go to song when I just want things to let go and forget all the nonsense. Plus their harmonizing is all kinds of damn awesome, lols. It's been crazy this past week, not personally but internet wise...some folks have just lost their minds and I try to let stuff bother me, but sometimes...wooo jeezus! LMBO! Anyway...Enjoy life and remember if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all. It saves you from looking like a jackass ;)

pssst...I was going to use Let It Go. You know that song from Frozen...sike! oh hell no I wasn't...lmbo! My great niece visited me this past couple of weekends and I don't like it and I haven't even seen the movie. How sad is it when I was happy she started singing a song from Annie :D

Ahh. Don't you just love finding new to you music? Well, I sure do. This week I'm going to be featuring Jason Derulo, now, I've known of him and I like some of his music (I'm really picky with it lol) but I did hear a song on the radio last week and it has been on replay for the longest! The song is called Want To Want Me. Whew... it's definitely upbeat and something you can dance to. This MIGHT, big ol might, be my jam of the summer. Enjoy :)

Taria Reed: Digital Artist Interview/Spotlight

What is up everyone! I know we said we’re gonna throw random interviews at y’all from your fellow bloggers and authors that we just adore, buuuut we’re gonna switch this bad boy up and throw you a Cover Designer/Stock Photographer. You read that right! COVER DESIGNER! Know a few authors looking to jazz up their covers or take some awesome photos? Taria A. Reed can be that gal for you!

We’re gonna start off with some basic question to let our readers get to know you better *cough* and to butter you up for our not so basic questions later *cough*

Hello! Go ahead and introduce yourself! -Name, Age (you know… if you want), how long have you been a cover designer/stock photographer?- Taria Reed 30something ;o) height 5’9” brasize more than a mouth full…lol. I’ve been a professional photographer for about 10yrs and a cover designer for 4yrs. I actually started shooting stock for my own designs then a few of my designer friends found out and nagged me to stop being selfish and put my images up for sale so they could have some fresh stock too…and in July 2013 that’s exactly what I did.

How long did it take you to start up your cover designing / stock photo bizz? My cover design business was done totally on a whim. I saw some fantasy art and fell in love. Until that point I only used photoshop to retouch portraits, using it for design is a whole other beast and I wanted to learn. In the beginning I was up at 6amand went to bed at 3am watching tutorials, learning techniques, and getting better. I did that for about a month straight. Sleep is highly overrated…lol. In august of 2011 I sent the few art pieces I created to a few publishers and I was immediately hired by two of them. I’ve been steadily adding to my client base since then.

Is there a process (thought or otherwise) that you go through before designing a cover and or having a photo shoot? I actually stalk an author’s social media when I get a cover assignment for them. I try to get an idea of their personality and limits. If an author posts pics of naked ass all over their page then I know that author is ok with me going sexy for their cover (synopsis permitting). If the post puppies and butterfly pics with quotes from the bible, then I know to tame it down and not get too risqué.

via Taria's FB Cover Artist Page

Do you remember your very first cover? Do you think you've grown as a designer since then? My very first cover was an interesting experience and not in a good way. So remember I told you that I was creating art pieces to each myself techniques and such? Well I would post those art pieces on facebook and twitter. I was contacted by an indy author asking if I could redesign the cover for her existing release. I was so proud that this total stranger found me and my work and wanted to PAY me to do this job. You couldn’t tell me anything that entire day…lol. Well long story short she didn’t want me to design the cover she wanted me to be a tool for her vision. None of my style, or talent went into that cover, it was all her. I hated the cover and looking back, I wouldn’t have taken that job. She used me because she can’t manipulate images or photoshop herself. My lesson: Make sure someone wants my style and talent reflected on their cover before accepting a job.

What/who’s cover have you designed most recently? Recently I’ve designed for authors such as Selena Kitt, Belinda Boring, Ancelli, Harper Miller, & Laurel Cremant.

Some stock sites don’t offer a lot of diverse pictures/characters. Do you get called/requested for a lot of diverse covers? I honestly get a good variety of requests for all sorts of covers. Just in the past year or so has the IR author community taken notice in me and shown interest.

What sets your site apart from other stock sites? The fact that I have diverse models posing together is the main thing. I listen to what my fans want to see. I watch trends and see what everyone is writing. Someone said how hard it was to find black women posing with Asian men so I went out and got an Asian man (who’s hotter than hell) to pose with two of my veteran female models of color and WOW those were some hot pics.

oh damn!

Taken by a Dragon by Felicity Heaton

Possessed by a need to save a beautiful Amazon warrior from the vision he witnessed, Loke snatched her from the midst of the battle between the Third and Fifth realm of the demons, and carried her to his home deep in the black mountains of Hell to protect her. But as the fierce little female awakens, he finds she’s anything but grateful, and his dragon instincts roar to life to warn she might be more to him than an enemy—she might be his fated female.

Anais remembers meeting a handsome warrior in the heat of battle, a man who was her enemy but who looked at her with eyes that held dark heat and wicked promises. When she wakes to find that same dragon shifter has taken her captive, desire is the last thing on her mind, but escaping him to return to Archangel, the hunter organisation she works for, sounds less than appealing when he reveals the reason he took her—to stop her from dying.

Can Loke protect Anais from the dangers of his realm and how far will he go to save her from the future he keeps witnessing? Can Anais resist the fierce attraction that burns between them as hot as fire and stay true to Archangel or will her heart be taken by the dragon?
