♥My Review♥

Overall, I thought this was a good read. The story flowed well and I liked the characters.
Georgina and Max got along good and they clashed just as good. Most the time, I'm not a fan of the "give the man a hard ass time just because" club but idk, I kinda liked it on Georgina because she knew damn well she wanted Max, lols. But Max was man enough to call her on her bullmess. He was a arrogant and cocky without being the assholish type that seems to have become a popular meme to many of men characters in romances...it's just not likable anymore (at least for me). So here, basically Georgina wants to just visit her family in peace while her Uncle is recovering for the short time she's in this …

More Solange for me...I'm so loving this song. Again, it's another one fitting my current mood.

#GraphicNovel #BookReview: Kindred by Octavia E. Butler (#Scific, #Video)

So I decided to read all of Octavia E. Butler's books this year. Big ol' thanks to my girl Monica over at Monlatable Book Reviews for the awesome idea. I've always been intrigued by Ms. Butler and her books so, as I stated in my video...I did attempt to read one of her books back in the day but couldn't rise up the interest. But now that my tastes have changed...some...lols.

#TVSeriesReview: Crazyhead, A Netflix Series

Crazyhead
Horror, Comedy
Netflix Series
Season 1
6 Episodes

♥My Review♥

Crazyhead is a British horror comedy where two young women become friends while fighting demons. I caught this gem of a show while perusing through Netflix one night. I'm glad I took a chance and decided to watch it.
Anyhoo's, the show starts off where Amy who sees dead people, lols...no in all seriousness she sees demons in their full face when no one else around her does so of course she thinks (along with most her friends) that she is totally bonkers. After a night out with her best friend Savannah, Amy finds herself in the most particular situation..that being she is almost being killed by one of these demons. She also meets Raquel who see the sames things she does and saves her life.
Raquel however is a bit different from Amy. Where Amy is human, Raquel is half demon.
When the show first starts, you think it's about Amy buuutttt you quickly learn that it's not. I mean it kinda sorta is but it’s n…

#GuestReview: Night Shift by Charlaine Harris (@sophiarose1816)

Night Shift by Charlaine Harris #3 Midnight, Texas Mystery, Paranormal Suspense Publisher:  Ace Published:  5.3.16 Pages: 320 Rating: 4 Flames: 2 Format:  Hardbound Source:  Self
Available: BN | Amazon | +Goodreads (Blurb/Shelf it)

Sophia's Review
I have been captivated by this series since I picked up Midnight Crossing, the first book.  Imagine a dying small town in the middle of nowhere where each resident has something to hide yet they are so few that they can’t help learning something about each other.  And though this town is a mere crossroads for two highways, it attracts mysterious and dangerous events.  The atmosphere is ominous and tense, waiting.  The people are wary, yet protective of their town and each other.  They look after their own.
This third book in the Midnight, Texas series felt like the finale.  I don’t know for sure if it is, but it wrapped up all dangling threads and finished pulling out all the hinted at secrets and more from the earlier books.  The big …

I wasn't a big fan of the Suicide Squad movie. I did however enjoy it when I saw it in the theaters, IMO they attempted to squeeze too much story line in the movie and well...it just din't work. I will say that Harley Quinn's (Margot Roby) and Dead Shot's (Will Smith) characters/stories were the best thing happening and if not for them, this movie would have been a true dud. The Joker's side story? meh, we could have done without it (sorry Jared...)

Anyhoo's, the soundtrack is pretty okay. But I love Twenty One Pilots and their song Heathens fits perfectly with the movie.

#BookReview: The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin (#Fantasy, #SciFi)

Source: Purchased Format: Mobi (Kindle) Published: August 4, 2015 Series: The Broken Earth #1 Genres: Fantasy, Science-Fiction Heat: Some Sexual Situations Author: N. K. Jemisin Available: BN | Amazon | +Goodreads(Blurb/Shelf It)

♥My Review
So although it took me awhile to get into the beginning of this story, the Fifth Season is a fantastic fantasy tale with some mixing of sci-fiction. This story is somewhat complicated and detailed which is why it took me a minute to jump right into it BUT once everything started to come together? Man...listen!

There are several stories going on here and all told from each person's POV.  Every character is doing what they can to survive because this world...this world is brutal, it's unfair, it's scary but it is all so very fascinating. No one is spared heartache or pain but I will say Essun’s story touched me the most.

N. K. Jemisin has created a complex society and story and...and if you truly read into The Fifth Season, it ties very much into…

Brazen Random Thoughts: Happy 2017!

Happy 2017 Beautifully Brazen Folk! 2016 was rough and draining for me, yeah...there were some pockets of goodness but I will say Im glad to see that heffa gone. Here's to a New Year...my wish for myself and all of you is to have a prosperous, healthy and peaceful year (and we are gonna need all the prayers we can get with these upcoming four years...).

Anyhoo's I was going to do a favorites list but I just dont want to. Everytime I conjured up the energy, I felt the world spinning (kidding...lols). But in all seriousness, I did have some favorites...some. I feel like we got a whole lotta duds in 2016...a whole lot of the same ol same in the romance genre.

Me personally, I'll be reading outside of romance in 2017. I'll still have my go toos like Christina C Jones, Love Belvin and a new to me author I found thru some fab friends, D.A. Young.
Its a shame too because my library is about 80% romance. But I feel like we as readers have been getting some not so great book…
