My Review

So although it took me awhile to get into the beginning of this story, the Fifth Season is a fantastic fantasy tale with some mixing of sci-fiction. This story is somewhat complicated and detailed which is why it took me a minute to jump right into it BUT once everything started to come together? Man...listen!

There are several stories going on here and all told from each person's POV.  Every character is doing what they can to survive because this world...this world is brutal, it's unfair, it's scary but it is all so very fascinating. No one is spared heartache or pain but I will say Essun’s story touched me the most.

N. K. Jemisin has created a complex society and story and...and if you truly read into The Fifth Season, it ties very much into what is going on in our world today.  The hate, the division and the complete disregard for the resources this earth has continued to give to us.

If you have a love for fantasy and are looking for a new world to dive into, something different from the normal then please give The Fifth Season a try.
