I liked this one for the most part and if this couple didn't take at least 80% of the book to realize that they liked each "so much", I would have rated Sweatpants Season higher. BUT...Akila and Carlos were exhausting af by the time this book ended, so yeah...I can't.
I like the fact that you thought you were going to into this possibly kinky romance (see said cover, lols) and you did get a romance but it's packaged along with one of our main protagonists being a feminist and all the things that can come with being said feminist in today's society which I'll just say I will have to agree to disagree with.
Just know that for most part I agree with where the author was going with this story but I feel like idk...that some parts of the story were convoluted and this led to my disagreements as well. But I can also appreciate both Akila and Carlos as they struggled with their attraction for one another but knowing that those "issues" that they deemed as possibly non-redeemable as a relatable thing.
Great effort by Ms. Allen though, I do look forward to reading more of her works.
