Say you’re living in this small town living your life and then strange AND bad shit starts happening? And you’re sitting there, like “for why?”

Listen, that’s what happens to Rielle. Some weird things are going on in her little hometown of Kannan and she, like everyone else, is trying to figure it all out. So imagine her shock and surprise when one night whilst she is minding her business, she attacked by some shadowy monster. But chile, in comes Callum. Guardian from another world to save her...only she ends up saving them both...unbeknownst to her.

The Guardian of Arcadin was good! I loved the blend of action and romance. Callum was a bit of your classic tortured anti-hero but I really liked that he still was committed to protecting his people and the Universe. Rielle was okay...lols, no I liked Rielle. She’s a contemporary girl so all that “mine” talk Callum was doing she wasn’t trying to hear. Now, I did have my issues with ol girl. Because she really was out here doing “to stupid to live” type things and I was side-eyeing her.

Seriously, I was like:

Lols.

Now, the world that our author builds is good, although at times it was a bit lacking in description of said world and characters. I did want just a bit more information on Arcadin and its people. Like I know they are other but what other are they? Also, skin description isn’t all important but then again it is. All we got of Callum and his brothers where eye and hair color...why no mention of their skin tone? This might also play into them being other but still, I at least wanted more.

At the end of it all, The Guardian of Arcadin is a wonderful ode to classic paranormal romance. Struggling hero and a bit of a combative heroine coming together to save two worlds. Action packed built around a steamy romance. I loved it.

I'm not sure if this is going to be a series, its not noted but I would definitely be interested in reading more books on this world and its characters.
