Porsha and Donovan constantly bump (literally) into each other during their respective flights while traveling. Porsha is a flight attendant and Donovan is a frequent flyer...cute though, lols.
This was a nice sexy romantic holiday short and I enjoyed it. Both Porsha and Donovan are immediate likable characters which made their banter with one another adorable.
Although, I felt like the story kind of meandered along at times...still Te’ Russ did a good job of keeping the read interesting. With heated chemistry between our couple and a very passionate sultry airport scene, Grounded for Christmas was a good quick read to add to my Holidays tbr list.

After their initial meeting which had me cackling because Chance was trying hard and Anika wasn’t buying the game he was playing….she had a bad day. But with a little convincing and some good ass drinks, they hook up. Both of them who usually are the hit it-n-split it type start falling…
But the more they spend time with one another, both Anika and Chance have to figure out if Milk and Cookies is enough. Anika gives Chance a run for his fuck boy heart, she isn’t trying to get coupled up but maybe cookie monster can change her mind…(yes, she called him cookie monster, lmao).
This was a hot and nasty af erotic read. The chemistry between Anika and Chance was on the moon, chile. I liked the chemistry and M.T. Dixon was on point with the humor. This was a good Holiday, glad I came across it.

Two more books off of my #jinglebooks bingo board...yay!
now, the dreaded cowboy...lols.
Hey Ya'll,
I hope the Holiday was good for you and even if you didn't celebrate it, I hope your week went well. Below are a couple more books, I'm adding to my #JingleBooks bingo board. Let's get into this thing, shall we?
Maven and Kai get a second chance at love in Rekindled. After breaking some years ago, this couple are secretly hooked back up when they visit their now married friends in Colorado for Christmas.
Both Maven and Kai had their reasons for the relationship to end, those reasons got in the way of the reasons that they should have fought to stay together. I feel like Maven got caught up in my friend is now married, why am I not. And Kai definitely let his dreams of moving up in the music industry get in the way of his romantic relationship. To me they both sidelined. Thank gawd for good friends.
Top Hits:
Maven being sexually free in this story. She wouldn’t let anyone slut shame her, she was in them streets and I think women should be celebrated for their sexual escapades as much as men.
Kai being man enough to listen to his friend telling him that he let his business goals get in the way of his intentions with Maven. Like yes dude, you could have had both at the same damn time.
For the most part, I enjoyed this read. This story is a good example of how couples even when they think they're communicating really aren't....
I also side-eyed the hell out of Maven at times...girl, the shenanigans in the grocery store, smh. Still, a good story.

Definitely four stars for the writing and the fake dating vibes but…
Let me tell ya’ll how Julie Tan got on my nerves, lols.
Okay, so Julie is not the favorite daughter or so she thinks….but I got why she thought that way. Anyolways, so her roommate sets her up on a date (like she always does, Julie really needed to start telling this woman no but I digress)....so, she goes on this date and instantly doesn’t like Tom Yueng because he is everything that her parents want her to be AND the kind of guy her parents would definitely want to see her with. So what does miss thing do? Ruin the date on purpose, she didn’t even give the man a chance to fuck up...if he was…
Ya’ll! Julie was doing the absolute most in this books, lols. I wanted to shake her head off her shoulders. Again, I got why she was the way she was but my gawd today. Tom Yeung was too patient with her ass. Like girl, that man was doing you a favor...she stayed putting words in his mouth. He was confused ya’ll so was this reader. She ain’t know that man like that to be doing all that, lols. Her insecurities about her status in her parents life were at ten.
Thank gawd for Tom, he won me over and he saved this story. Again, his patience with Julie was outstanding but also, he saw the kind of pressure her parents tended to put her under. He wanted her to understand that she didn't need to be parent perfect for him.
Tom’s nerdiness and Julie’s extrovert-ness were the perfect opposites attract and the fake dating set up mixed in with them being at her parents home was cute and hilarious. Chile, them parents, lmao...funny especially the mom. She was a mess. I liked the story, I do feel like Julie overdid it but still a good story.

His Princess by Christmas is the wholesome romance that bought me out of my reading fog, I truly did enjoy this story.
Both Amari and Kade are on the run from something, meeting in the small town of Swell Valley brings these two runners together in ways they never thought possible. Kade who is currently prince of a small African nation is about to be King, taking the place of this mother has him feeling smothered and not quite up to the job. Vacationing in Swell Valley was supposed to be his break before ruling a kingdom. There he meets Amari, a single mother who owns a small trinket shop. Kade who needs a distraction takes on a job he obviously doesn’t need and Amari knowing the look of someone who is running hires him.
Talk about slow burn. The romance between Amari and Kade is sensually tension filled. With longing looks and passionate kisses, you feel like tearing at your own skin while reading…. Or at least I did but I was wholly invested in this story because these characters are easy to love. I felt for both Amari and Kade. Amari because of her previous marriage and the way she grew up, always felt like she wasn’t doing enough for her daughter May as a parent. And Kade, living in the shadow of his mother; has always felt like he wasn’t doing enough to take her place. But I loved the honesty that they held towards one another. I love that Therese Beharrie always made them both say what they had to say without going through heightened drama, it was so refreshing to see on page.
I’m glad I came across this author's work because now I’m a huge fan and I think you will be too. Definitely add her work to your tbr, I highly recommend it. It’s the cleansing palate you deserve.

PS: Me loving all these low drama romances:
It boggles this readers mind that people constantly disrespect
romance but have no problem profiting off it. This lady wrote a whole article
pretty much trashing romance but decided to write erotica because: escapism and
well profit…because why still write in a genre you dislike or can't relate too if no money is being
made?
But we have seen this before, right? Other posers who
have been exposed. They have this disdain for the genres authors and its readers. This reader suspects that there are
plenty of people within the genre who feel this way but again profit. And...you are not supposed to say
it out loud for goodness sake or at least, I do not think you are lols. It is a
good thing however that these “reveals” are happening because readers can make informed
decisions on where to direct their money. Why am I spending my money on someone
who thinks I’m an air head for reading their work?
This is very telling of the people who are exposed as well. Why the disrespect though? What do you gain? Because trust me, once you're found out...it won't be the same ol same ol for you. Why does the pleasure seen within the genre bother folk so much? NO genre in publishing is perfect but it seems the focal point is always on romance books. Why posers?
I am not here to defend the genre. As a reader, I believe there
is still so much work to be done within it. Its writers, readers, and employers
prove every day that there is. Its interesting to see however, the constant degradation
of the genre. It is disrespectful of the people that have put in the hard work
to turn it into a high money-making industry.
I do not expect attitudes to change anytime soon though. There
are better, more respectful articles out in the world that center the joys of romance books. I
say we put our energy towards those instead.

Welcome to another JWM. This post will be in pictures instead of the usual video. My plan is to do a journal entry everyday in December (can't believe it the last month of the year 😩). I feel like I have to finish out the Journal I have before I do any entries in 2021. I'll also be drawing cards from my tarot/oracle decks for each entry. Anyolways, lets get to this.
********
This was a creative entry I had already done but just needed to write in….the writing is blocked out. I didn’t draw a card for this particular entry, I just started writing which I generally have a hard time doing. I’m not sure why. My thoughts have been pretty clear of late so that may explain it...lols.
For this next entry, I did draw a card, it’s from my Heal Your Damn Self Oracle Deck by Dopeness Divine. Third Eye Chakra is the prompt. This chakra deals with imagination, vision and intuition.
This deck has really cool prompt questions that I can work out while writing and I’m loving it to death. It’s a great way for me to get some serious writing done. As you can see I haven’t written anything yet...but no worries, it's just not shown here, lols.
I also drew a card for the entry below. It’s a card from a different deck, Rachel True’s Intuitive Tarot. Card drawn, Ten of Swords (reversed).
When I saw this card, I was like uuggghhh lmao. But it’s not as bad as one would think even though there is someone laying on the ground with TEN swords sticking in their back. In the reverse, this card is telling you that yes...you have been through it but now is not the time to rest. Keep with your healing process and stay focused on your plans, goals. I had a good time writing this entry, lols.

Being Merry is a low-angst Holiday romance with a Grump (Lennox) who suddenly has a new housemate. Said housemate (Noelle) is full of sunshine and the Christmas spirit which Lennox cannot deal with. But their attraction to one another is instant, can Noelle’s happy holiday mood lift up Lennox’s grinchy attitude?...
I truly did enjoy this Holiday read. Meka James let this story flow so easily. Both Lennox and Noelle are easy to like and their banter was adorable on page. Imagine Noelle walking around the house with light up reindeer ears and showy Christmas clothes with Lennox walking around calling her Dasher, lols. Me reading:
The romance here was simple, sweet and sensually steamy. With little to no drama and lots of Christmas humor, I instantly fell in love with this story and its characters, I think you will too. I highly recommend it.
This is first read by this author and definitely won’t be my last!

Off Limits Attraction is the third and final book in this series and I am sad but I will say that I enjoyed this story the most. Full disclosure, I didn’t read the second book.
Jihae Park and Colin Song have a business opportunity that is sure to make them both well known names in the film industry. While both initially go into their venture as a way to propel their prospective companies into the future, Colin does have other plans. You see, Jihae is the daughter of the man who tried to ruin his family and he thinks through her he can find the proof. But...because ya’ll know there is always a but. Colin’s attraction…. Or should we say both his and Jihae’s attraction to one another makes their working together full of tension neither is sure they want to rid themselves of. This doesn’t help Colin’s investigative probe at all. He thinks she is the enemy but is she? Jihae and Colin decide to move their work relationship to a limited sexual one...because ya’ll know there are always limits. But will Jihae’s cool exterior simmer as she falls for Colin? Will Colin’s duty to the Song family hold strong as he falls for Jihae?
Listen, talk about slow burn. Jayci Lee had all the bones of a kdrama in Off Limits Attraction and I was here for it.
Jihae’s and Colin’s romance was so cute on page. Colin’s care of Jihae was super sexy. He knew a bit of her strict privileged life but out on their “dates”, he sees a warmer Jihae, not the woman her father has a tight hold on. Which is why he got on my nerves through this read with his constant dumb plan, lols. Jihae just wanted to live life outside of her father’s control so when he dispatches her to the US for her next assignment, she jumps at the opportunity. She has limited freedom and she loves it...meeting Colin, she is stunned by his good looks and warm nature. Chile, she falls instantly.
What made this book for me was the kind of kdrama-ish feel of the story. The emotions between our couple was so palpable on page which made their banter flow well. I loved the stark difference between them even though they were kind of the same, with Jihae growing up in Korea and Colin growing up in the States. I do feel like the story does lose a bit of steam towards the end and there were some loose ends not officially tied up (Jihae’s father's involvement in trying to take down the Song family and what of her relationship with him after her and Colin getting together?....) but I still enjoyed it. I wanted Jihae to be happy. Colin grew on me, lmao.
If you’re a fan of workplace romances with a bit of kdrama added in the mix, then definitely add this book or maybe the whole series to your reading list.
Now I'm going to watch another KDrama on Netflix...lata ya'll.
